A friend of mine and I took a ride to Audio Classics yesterday. He wanted to check out a preamp and I wanted to play with some gear.

Mike Sastra and Ryan Kilpatrick were AWESOME!

Both great guys - easy going and great conversation. They are true gentlemen. Thank you Mike and Ryan for a great day. I know you guys deal with nuts like us every day but keep it fresh. Thank you so much!

I head MC1.2KW's on Salon2's, but the star of the day were the MC2KW's

Holy cr@p !!! These are freaking awesome. So effortless, HUGE, 3D sound stage, slightly sweet with total clarity and tremendous dynamic swing.

I love those amps. The trip was totally worth it.

Thank you again to Audio Classics. A tremendous resource for McIntosh and audio.

Joe,
Thanks for the kind words, its guys like you that make this fun (plus the really cool gear). As I fist mentioned, don't listen to the MC2KW unless you want to be ruined forever!

Oh boy am I ruined. But in a good way :D

Thanks again. The time flew by. I am still feeling the effects ....

That's the system that I heard in Mike avatar.

Audio Classics should be glad that I don't live locally :)

I took that trip to Audio Classics with Joe. What a fun day! Mike and Ryan were such great hosts....a great way to spend a day and well worth the trip. It's a beautiful ride to upstate NY and as you get close to Binghamton, you can feel that you are in McIntosh country. This is one of the systems that we heard.

I was at Audio Classics on Nov./14/2016. After I dropped my MVP891 off at McIntosh for a 3rd repair. What a great staff. They don't mind if you just hang out for a while. Gave a good price on some stuff. By the way. The factory repair lasted 8 days.
