A look at the Stealth Dream 20-20 power cable

Sounds like a total waste of money.

It is for people who think NAD is high end. :)

I think you'll find that NAD owners would have a little more sense than to spend $11,000 on a cable. In fact you'd expect that of anyone will anything more than a molecule of common sense! ;)

Have you ever heard one or just making assumptions based on zero experience and knowledge? Does that same "common sense" carry over to people who spend $75K on speakers? Or $50K on an amp?

Does that line of "common sense" kick in at different levels for different categories of gear?

What about the people who spend $450 on a Sony receiver and think you have no "Common sense" for spending what you have on gear? Are they right and you wrong?

Does that "common sense" line vary between countries and regions? Race? Ethnicity?

Just hoping you can clearly define where that line of when "common sense" kicks in and who is the Common Sense God who sets that line we are all supposed to know about so I can understand. Thanks.

It's sad that you can't find something better for your time than writing this drivel. I’ll leave you to spend your money on whatever amuses you without further comment. Goodbye.

So does that mean you can't explain what your idea of common sense in high end audio is? You seemed so sure in your other post.

So does that mean you can't explain for me what your idea of common sense in high end audio is? Darn it, I was so looking forward to your thoughts.

Common sense would be that people probably aren't going to spend more money on a power cord than what they spent on the component they are going to plug the power cord into.

That would have been a good first choice. It's also rich coming from a guy who spends close to $37K on speakers and drives them with a $5K all in one. Isn't that just too much for a pair of speakers? Where again does the Common Sense kick in?

I don't recall anyone saying otherwise. The market for this particular cable would be for those with a more expensive amp than the NAD. If you look at their offerings, Stealth has lower priced cables for lower cost systems. MM never said he was buying the cable. He did not say everyone should buy the 20-20 cable. He said you can't go wrong buying any of their cables. All he did was Review the 20-20 BUT if he likes it that much and wants to buy one, who cares? You support over priced items and capitalism run amuck right?

My non audiophile friends often say that entire high-end hobby does not make sense, like watches, cars, motorcycles or cars, boats… As a husband I often find that wive’s purchases in fashion do not make sense. Or having a dinner in a stellar restaurant… The list is infinite.

IMO it makes no sense saying what makes sense or not.

I can’t afford a lot of thing, but dreaming costs nothing, does it makes sense?

Thanks Michael for your videos, go aehead!

Here we go again with another of your rants against capitalism. I don't know why you keep interjecting politics into audio discussions. The Magico Pricing thread where you started your socialist rant was closed down.

Please explain to me how manufacturing and selling a product that is grossly over priced is Political. I know you support it or you would not be so upset when it gets called out. If you noticed, I pretty much stayed out of the Magico thread after you again brought Politics into it when it wasn't intended. If I was going to bring Politics into it, I would be blaming it on those pesky conservatives who make and spend their money as they wish. Get a grip and try to grasp why I said what I said, it's pretty simple to understand. But here it is simply put. Making a modest profit has morality involved. Making a 100 fold profit on a product at the expense of your employees and the consumer has little morality involved and more greed. Understand it this time?

It's real simple. It's the second you blame capitalism for prices you think are too high. Once you start attacking the economic system of our country, you dive head first into the deep end of the pool of politics. You just can't stop railing against your perceived injustices of capitalism. Do you understand it this time?

I understand that you support customers paying outrageous prices for things maybe not really worth it. My points are from a Moral standpoint, not a Political standpoint although the political climate allows for enormous amounts of Immorality. It is not an attack on the economic system itself, but for those who choose to push the limits beyond. I love Capitalism. It is what has allowed me to work my whole life and buy and sell what I can afford. I just don't support the blatant abuse of it in audio or any other sector of products. Stop Projecting so much and reading things into what I said.

You can't have it both ways. Capitalism is not a buffet where you pick and choose what part of it you want to put on your plate and rail against the parts you don't like. You can't take back the words you have written about capitalism on AS-they are there for all to see and read. Anybody with a brain in their head can read what you have said on this thread and the Magico Pricing thread that was closed and form and opinion about your comments on capitalism. Maybe you should change your AS name to Shadowfacts because you don't really have any facts. Mr. Moralilty would make a good second choice for your name.

Thanks, we can all also see where you stand on Morality. I don't want to take back my comments. I stand by them. You don't have to be greedy to work within a capitalistic economy unless you have no morals. From what I am hearing from you, you condone the blatant raping of customers in it's name. And you keep bringing up the Magico thread that was closed. It was not closed due to anything I said, it was closed when world and national stats were provided and the reasons behind them. I had nothing to do with all that. I stayed out of that thread because of all that knowing where it was going.

Please list more of your snarky names you would like to call me. It always goes there with a certain group of people.

My speakers were bought new for €23500 ($24800) including 21% tax (not $37K), so the ratio of speakers to electronics is not quite so high as you suggest. Surely better to have the biggest investment in speakers, particularly in an all-digital system?

However, the modestly-priced all-in-one was very carefully chosen after buying or borrowing 12 ss amps of various classes, mostly far more costly than the NAD. These included amps from Accuphase, Mark Levinson, GamuT, Lyngdorf and others that were recommended by fellow Avantarde owners. I chose the NAD Master Series simply because it sounded as good as or better than any the others. Had any of the others proved better sounding, I'd have kept it. The GamuT was tempting but it was badly-behaved when powered up or down with my 107 dB speakers

I am looking for a sensible upgrade but I'm really struggling. Of course I could spend $30+K, but if I can match the performance of that for half the price, I'll unapologetically take that route – unlike some here, I not a brand snob!

I've already bought a pair of Atma-Sphere's latest power amp offering and I'm now looking for a streamer / DAC / pre. If you could suggest a suitable contender, please shout out. It will have to be controllable with a first-class and multi-platform app and it needs only digital sources – and it will have to be content with a sub-£11K power cable! Budget up to around $10K. I think I may have difficulty matching or bettering the forthcoming NAD M66 - I have others on my short contender list – but I'm happy to consider anything else at a sensible price. I look forward to your considered suggestions.
