452 or 601's

It's been fun watching your progression with your system. I think when you get everything hooked up, you are going to be blown away. You've really move up from what you had.

I'm prepared to be blown away MDP. I got into this hobby around 2008 started with paradigm speakers and a denon receiver that till this day I ask myself "what was I thinking!?!?! Denon???"

Oh well that seemed like a long time ago and things have changed tremendously. When I first started, I used to drool at the high end pieces such as McIntosh and tell myself: no way in hell am ever gonna own those things. Too expensive and I'm not that crazy!!!

LOL 8 years later, here I am proving myself wrong.....I just hope that this will be it. My final investment in high end audio gear till the day I'm gone from this world.

Well my kids would inherit them and I'll make sure to mention in the will that the macs cannot be sold and must be played everyday for maximum quality of life [emoji18]

Yes Paul. I got my dealer dude to throw in those AQ Columbia balanced XLR cables. They are pretty sweet I heard.

That is one beautiful beast of an amp. Be careful with your back. I had an MC402 and it was a monster too. Can't wait to see you amp in your rack.

Congratulation and remember I think I've heard it takes about 100 hours to really settle in. Double-D knows exactly what the break in time is.

I think I'm gonna have a slight problem with the set up. I might not be able to fit the beast into the salamander cabinet and utilize the door.....the front handles on the 452 might prevent the door from closing completely

Guys

Question: I'm slightly confused and too lazy to look up the manual. How do I get the C2500 to trigger the MC452? There are so many ports in the back of the c2500!

Stan.......You will use the Power Control jack labeled MAIN on the C2500. Connect a stereo mini jack cable from there to the Power Control INPUT on the MC452.

Stan.......If you are using the back panels on your Salamander rack, you may have to remove one so the amp will slide deeper to allow the MC452 handles to clear the door. It's either that or remove the door.

Stan.......Wow, look at that big beautiful power amplifier. New McIntosh gear is exciting. Moving that power amp really is a two man job. Be careful.

Don't forget to set the small Input Mode switch on the rear to Balanced or Unbalanced depending on the interconnects you plan to use.

Once you have the Power Control cable connected between the C2500 and the MC452 you will set the Power Knob on the front to Remote. Nothing left to do then except enjoy the music.

My serial number is ACF2794. Does that mean it was the 2794'th MC452 amp that was made or the number has no correlation to production?
