* This is just for <<<>>> Look & Sound <<<>>> strictly.

Out of those 25 BD titles I got 22 of them (not a soap opera TV series watcher at all).
I would say roughly 50% (10-12 titles) I agree with Ralph. ...And the rest I disagree.

Just as one example: 'Argo' = Inferior picture and sound quality.
And same for 'Zero Dark Thirty' (inferior picture) ...And 'World War Z' (not perfect video, but great audio).

Again, look and sound alone, and not the true value from the movie content.

Like my own top 25 list: Best Sound & Picture Quality Blu-ray titles released in 2013; among other Blu tops?

Ok, I was kind of expecting that somehow (no I wasn't), so give me couple days or so.
The toughest part is that some of them totally suck; personal movie value (spiritual content; 6th sense) preference wise.
But I'm still game; should still be fun. ...Only, or/and mainly for great Picture (Animation included) and Sound (Music score included). ...But I'll still give it my best shot on movie value Content as well (Fun & Creative/Positive Entertainment).
===> Rewarding: Visually, Auditory & Incorporeally.

Meanwhile, for the Blu-ray Movie and Music lovers out there, share your own thoughts and bring one or two that you think Ralph omitted, and which you feel deserve top scores in these two departments.

The year is 2013, Blu-rays released this year.

* My list is done, I got roughly 35 titles; I have to eliminate ten of them.
And when I get my 25 titles I won't just post their titles, but their picture covers.
I was going to put them in order of the very best to best, but after deliberation with myself I won't (no alphabetical order either; Bob's own random way). It's too hard for one of them to have say position #6 and another at position #7.
And I won't comment either and I won't give any links and when you see a Special Edition 3D version, don't panic because the 2D version is equally accountable (take the one you wish; 2D or 3D or both - it just don't matter).
And the special features are of no importance. ...Strictly Picture & Sound, with more or less some Soul value, but Soul not being part of this equation, or very little (+/-) and mainly by accidental destiny.

Thank you Barry; it did take some time and work to compile my own list of some of the best Blu-rays released this year.
[Picture & Sound & a little bit (+/-) of Soul/Wisdom (Artistic Creativity content) here & there wise.]

I'm going to add the BD titles that I deleted from my list. That'll make it 36 total now. I don't have to be stuck with 25.

If mentioned before lists don't have to be finite. if you liked 36, that's a good number!!! I must say that if you that if you included story, 75% of those lsited here would not be on my list. But I would throw in Casablanca, the one released this year.

True. ...And 'Casablanca' was also released a while back; they just keep re-releasing it like 'Terminator 2 - Judgement Day', and again next year.

Sony re-released few BD titles too with a 4K logo on them.

Out of my 2013 list, one for every ten days (365 divided by 10), at least 50% (75%, you're too generous ) goes to the garbage bin in true value content.
Let's have another thread* only for intelligent movies on Blu-ray! ...Don't matter the picture and sound quality; only the true positive content, storytelling, and acting too.
...And only for this year, released in 2013. Wouah, that's a tough challenge! :whoa: ...And not only that, but only for movies made in 2012-13 ...We'd better go international with this affair; get out of outside Hollywood's confinement!

Not a big Woody's fan here. ...Just small snapshots of Manhattan's apartment lifestyle; missing the entire world picture, totally constrained to what is one of the most superficial lifestyle in the world. ...A diversion of the mundane, a small distraction from much bigger things.

The thing I hate the most about Woody ...
And the thing I like most is his Mono records (LP albums; jazz).
