2025 Florida Audio Expo

Tickets sold: Friday turnout was better than all 3 days combined last year. Saturday was better than Friday. The efforts to broaden the audience is working. For a first year at a new venue….very pleased. Definitely some wrinkles to iron out, but that’s to be expected with moving a show to a new venue. Next year will be even better.
Congratulations Mike and crew. Job well done. In years past I definitely observed exhibitors dialing in their rooms with experience.

The highlights of the show for me were meeting Jord from Pink Faun and hearing the crazy Clarisys monster speakers. I never really understood the term "speaker slam" until now. Very impressive.

I’m still a little groggy this morning, it was a tremendous amount of work the past 2 weeks and we still have this week of unpacking and setting everything back up in the store. I spent most of my time between the 4 rooms we had. The Salon 3 - Clarisys Atrium system is a musical experience I thought I would never ever hear in my lifetime - unless it was indeed a live concert. If you spent some time, allowed your ears/brain to attempt to the musical realism, you could literally close your eyes and imagine the orchestra in the room - to scale. Someone who has just spent the past 3 hours listening to small systems in small rooms, walks in, stands at the back of the room for 5 seconds and walks out could not even grasp what they were hearing. It literally required a resetting of what was possible in hifi reproduction. You needed to sit down and spend time for the reset to occur. Michael Fremer spent over 2 hours in our room. You will no doubt read a comment here or there, especially ones promoted by competitors of mine about this or that about the system (especially one who walked in, stood at the back of the room for 3 seconds and walked out) - but I’m here to tell you, there was NOTHING like it - ever. You want a concert in your home? This system is it. I had the privilege of spending nearly a week listening to this system and playing everything from Sarah McLaughlin to Mahler and everything in between. I have never ever had a listening experience come close to this. It was constant goosebumps.

I always wondered if I would hear anything that tops the MBL Xtremes. This weekend I did and by at least 50% if I’m being honest. The system had incredible imaging and depth. The best I’ve ever heard - by far. The realism was unparalleled in my nearly 50 years of hifi experiences.

I would love to have the Atrium’s in my room (either home or store), but they would not be fit. But if I did have a room big enough, you bet I would have them. There is nothing like them. Anywhere.

The system will be on display one final time - at the largest room at the largest show - Munich 2025. After that, they will return to Switzerland where they will be on permanent display for any interested parties to audition. If you didn’t catch them in Florida, you definitely don’t want to miss them in Munich.

Clarisys will be on display at the Dallas show in a few weeks, debuting the new Studio Plus with Block Audio. I will be attending Axpona, but not displaying. After that, Munich 2025 in May. Fun times indeed.

The one word you used above that sums it up for my experience in the Claisys Atrium room is SCALE. The space and air around instruments and voices, the concussive pulse of air moving through the room was truly remarkable in my experience. As I mentioned to you at the show I have not heard better sound quality from streaming.

One of my reasons to attend was to experience the Atriums first hand and needless to say I was not disappointed. I encourage anyone who is interested in experiencing what is possible as the deliverable state-of-the-art in sound reproduction, hear this system in person. IMO it should be considered one of the benchmarks in 2 channel music reproduction.

BTW Jord is a force of nature. A pleasure to meet him and gain some first hand insight into the inspiration he brings to the Pink Faun hardware and software. One can hear his vision in the PF products; papably musical and effortless sound quality.

Edit; Needless to say the entire signal chain was critical to the exceptional sound quality this room exhibited but I don't know how I forgot to mention the role the MSB Cascade DAC played in partnership with the Pink Faun Dual Ultra Music Server. This is the third time I've heard the Cascade in person and each time it made clear that this it is a world class DAC. Digital playback without digital artifice. Kudos to MSB for the effort it took to create the Cascade.

Completely agree on all accounts. It was great visiting with you as well.

can you tell us more on the amplification of Atrium in the show? Is it passive or active? I saw four VAC 452. Are they on bi-amp mode or mono mode? Not much info in the net.

Yes I would love to read about the equipment used. It looks complex and given the amount of devices I think it would help many .
I wanted to be there but had a date on the icon of the seas for my birthday.
I'm reading and watching videos

Yes. Logistically didn’t work out. We have to have them for Munich as we’ve spent $60,000+ on the room there. Yes, you read that correctly.

Moving these 4500 pound monsters (in 12 crates) is a logistic challenge. It can be done, you just need a little more time and carefully planning and great shippers.

Clarisys will show the new Studio Plus in Dallas in a few weeks. I’ll be attending Axpona just as a spectator which will be fun. Munich will be a massive undertaking. The hotel will need to run additional power to our room as we are planning on 8 monos. It might not work out, but that’s the plan today. The team is arriving a week early.

I have to say something…

Clarisys Audio/Luxury HiFi Distribution hosted a breakfast for the press on Saturday morning.

With over 55 press in attendance, all were invited. Notifications of this breakfast in our room was sent out multiple times over several days/weeks before the show. 8 RSVP’d they were coming.

Well, Saturday morning 8am rolled around and one guy, one guy (!!) showed up. Not only did he show up, he showed up right at 8am, he brought a bag full of records, he was delightful and entertaining and educational. We may not agree on everything, but I have the utmost respect for Michael Fremer.

All the food didn’t go to waste, the public attendees gobbled it all up when the doors to the public opened at 10am.

Without Mike, none of this would be possible. We have an awesome team with Cindy, Matt, Tim, Daan, Bac, Bao, Paolo, Mrs Thao, Mrs Lan and more..

The development, the construction, the sheer amount of effort that goes into this undertaking can only be done with a great group of friends.

Honorable mentions go to Kevin from VAC, Jord from Pink Faun, Nick from Signal Projects and Michael Fremer who actually takes his job serious, kudos! Michael Fremer actually listens to music, is on time and doesn't bullshit me, which i appreciate really really much :-)

See you guys in Dallas.

PS: We also love grumpy Bart :) and thank Mike B, John and Charles who helped with the voicing of the system
