2018 Lexus LC500

Charles.......Everyone has their opinion. Thanks for sharing your insightful view point here. I think the new Lexus LC500 looks extremely attractive and fresh. It is considerably more attractive to me than the jellybean shaped little speedsters from Nissan, but of course that's just my opinion. We all have one.

I'm assuming that was an attempt at an insult of some type. It's not even a good analogy. A jellybean shaped car would be something like a VW Beetle or that Fiat Abarth I had, but certainly not the Nissan Z. Anywho, I'll leave you be with your 10-speed squished loaf of bread. LOL

Charles.......You can assume whatever floats your boat. I am not influenced by it one way or the other. My comment was not an attempt at an insult. You would immediately recognize the difference had that been my intention. Fact is I think many vehicles on the road today, Nissan included, have a certain jelly bean line to their shape. I have made that comment multiple times to quite a few people and generally get a positive nod of recognition. I am not trying to diminish your excitement for the hallowed Z. Your many posts and photos here make it abundantly clear she's your joy. Nothing wrong with that. What I don't understand or agree with is the condescending tone and choice of words used in your effort to belittle something others find enjoyable.

Just voicing my opinion. One that MANY others agree with. Ever since Lexus came out with that Hoover vacuum looking front end, their sales have dropped. Near 21% decrease in one year alone in fact. I'm not trying to belittle anything. I just call it as I see it. Apparently, I'm not the only one. Anywho...

BTW, I'm not the one who came up with the "Hoover vacuum" term either, but I do agree with it.

I drive RX hybrids since 2007.
Last year I changed my 450 H 2010 for 2016 Fsport just because it was time after 6 years and 120 kms done.
In the beginning I did not like the new front of FSport but after a few months the former model looked old and ugly to me:)
I like the new style very much and LC is very attractive imo.
With my spin I cannot drive sports cars and for me , living in the country side, the hybrid SUV is what I need, also to transport a hiend gear for home audition from time to time.
As far as I know in Poland the sales of Lexus went very much up last year .
German cars are overrated imho , I drove 2 Audis 8 series and 3 BMW 5 series, still own a 320 CC as a summer car.

The lines on the new 2018 Lexus LC500 are sensual. There is a timeless beauty to these lines that we have seen played out to one degree or another on a number of other premium high-end automobiles.

A big + one......a very cool looking ride with an interior to match.
Cheers.....

Ive seen the LC500 up close, Lexus has been bringing a black pre-production model around So Cal car events since last summer. its a big car, think MBZ S-class coupe size-wise.

my one reservation is Lexus' corporate-wide restyle with the pissed off grill, I can't help but see the Predator...

Rob.......Interesting comparison. To me the reality of the geometric shape and pattern of the LC500 spindle grill, along with the manner in which the Lexus engineers have manage to reduce its overall size, particularly the height, works well with the ebb and flow of the body work, air scopes, and lamps.

The fantasy monster bears little resemblance in my mind to the Lexus LC500 grill, although I can see how one could be influenced by its shape and menacing appearance. Looks like beauty and the beast to me.

Beside the Lexus LC500, I also have a healthy interest in the Jaguar F-Type SVR, with all wheel drive, a 575 hp 5.0-liter twin vortex supercharged V8 engine, 20 inch forged alloy wheels, carbon Ceramic matrix braking, electronic active differential, and much more. The Jag is faster and considerably more track ready than the LC500, but I am not a racer, just an enthusiast of good performance and premium engineering. The F-Type SVR is an entirely different kind of vehicle than the Lexus LC500, and $25K more money, too.

I suspect Lexus engineers will follow the LC500 with an LC500 F adding a substantial horsepower bump and maybe even an all-wheel drive version depending on the buying public's response to the LC500.

Dan and Jock - The LC is a very good looking car. Hope you guys can find two with the colors and options you desire.

Dan, I can't understand any why anyone would make snarky comments about somebody else's choice in cars. We all have different tastes.

I think the new Lexus is absolutely stunning!!!

Have fun picking colors.

Again, just stating an opinion. One that many others agree with. Just not on this forum, but for a different reason.

Mark.......I appreciate your comment and agree with you. It is amusing to see someone diligently follow the 2018 Lexus LC500 thread while at the same time professing a distaste for the vehicle.

Perhaps there's more going on in the background than meets the eye.

Worrying about that kind of stuff keeps me awake at night one or two seconds longer before I can finally doze off. . :eyebrow:

The exterior is hideous. Too much going on and looks like three different cars smooshed together. The interior isn't too bad though, except for those stalks sticking out of the gauge cluster hood.
I like those stalks coming out of the gauge cluster. Fresh thinking. Ever since Lexus went to that grill it didn't work for me. I'm a car guy so they are all good. Dan if you end up getting one enjoy. I'm sure it will be fun.
Barry

I think Lexus took a "wrong turn" with the new grill. The car in this thread is odd looking to me. I have to agree with the guy who said it looks like several cars smooshed together. I'll take the MB any day :) Just my 2 cents.
