you're probably right. it looks like he just acquired a garrard a few years ago Listening #98 | Stereophile.com
but he did dump his linn LP12 for a vintage thorens td 124.

Art has a 301 which he detailed his rebuild in SP.

I have found that Art D. pretty much doesn't like any gear unless it's old enough to qualify for Social Security or it's built with parts that are old enough to qualify for Social Security.

Obviously this isn't an accurate statement at all, although it appears to be tongue in cheek so no worries there…it's just good for posterity (and google's) sake to mention it. Art mostly reviews new gear, just he tends to review gear that is hand-built as opposed to line manufactured, and frequently designed to look vintage. There's no problem with vintage gear - just ask NOS tube fans, or fans of old WE speaker drivers - but AD reviews a pretty wide range of new-production gear, and owns some of it too.

It's a decent list. However, it is kind of all over the place with the recommendations. Anyway, it is what it is. No big deal to me, really.
