Taiko USB Card

very nice.

have been thinking about an mk-ii version of my transport ...anyone know if it is for sale as a stand alone PCIe card. or, do you have to get the server also?!

This is a big reason why the MSB Pro USB Input Module sounds so phenomenal on the Taiko Exreme. Add to it an ultra low noise floor, outstanding current delivery from its robust power supply and the speed of PCIE Solid State Storage and you have a winning combination.

this card is not yet part of the experience, it's just now about to be introduced. so the MSB Pro USB interface performance with the Taiko Extreme up to now is somewhat due to USB being optimized in the Extreme.

this card will be another step forward in that vein. can't wait to get mine.

I would be surprised if the card was available to anyone other than Extreme owners for the foreseeable future but, of course, that is just my guess.

It has been reported on Audiophilestyle by user Nenon, the new Taiko USB Card will be exclusive to Extreme owners at least initially. I guess they are reserving the right to change their minds.

My apologies Mike, I thought this was the latest version of a USB Card that was already out there. If the Taiko Extreme’s USB interface already sounds this great without their new USB Card being implemented, I can’t even imagine how it will sound with it.

Even without the new Taiko USB card, the Taiko Extreme server with the TAS server software and Taiko USB driver is a transformative component.

It has taken my system to levels of musical realism not before realized in my room. It’s no longer just about hitting all the audiophile sonic attributes, but now about transmitting the emotional energy of a live performance into the room.

And all the early reports from those lucky enough to get the first cards, indicate that the addition of the Taiko USB card take the Extreme (with the accompanying TAS server software and Taiko USB driver) to new jaw-dropping levels; even before burn-in.

Well deserved kudos to the Taiko team!

I just order the the USB card. Hope to get it next week. Can’t wait!

installed mine 5-6 days back - insane. i'm not prone to hyperbole with audio stuff (anymore at least...comes with listening to more and more gear) but this is absurd.
i'm out of town but emile mentioned to me that when i get back in a couple weeks, the card will be burned in and fully opened up. i'm not even sure how one improves from there but yeah.

i know the taiko is beyond the budget of most buyers but, seriously, if you can swing it, it will take your digital listening to not just a new level but a new world. it's totally changed how i listen and how i approach demos. i heard the chronosonic xvx and alexx v last week. in good rooms and good set ups but just standard roon (one with linn and one nucleus with alpha dac). i genuinely thought that my rig was better than both because of the work i've done on the digital front end/because of the taiko. i think those speakers could maybe best my magicos - in my rig - but with this difference it was no comparison.

i've been watching jay's audiolab videos and i think his rig could really use a taiko :)

Wow what an impressive audio computer!!! How do these compare to an Aurender?

They have different sounds, but both are excellent. You would have to come and listen.

The one thing this card makes painfully clear is how much better TAS is than Roon - sonically speaking of course.
