Looking for an upgrade in the $50k range but hopefully my true end game / lifetime speaker. Right now I have a 12 x 16 x 8 ft bedroom listening room (may make a future basement listening space that is much bigger and would like speakers that would fit there too, that room might be 16 x 26 x 8).

Right now I have paradigm sig s8 v2s as well as 2x 18 inch v1800 psa subs. Really enjoy these speakers and subs but im sure I can do better. I am working on room treatment and measurement still. Rest of my gear is PC > SOTM 200 ultra > Denafrips terminator > Audio gd he9 > Dual bryston 4bsst amps (with sst2 motherboards).

Lots of great options to look into on your list. Some will, in my opinion, go well with your current amplification and for some it will not be a great choice.

Have you heard any speakers from your list yet? Any opinions so far?

Welcome to the forums. I like several of your choices and it would be a difficult decision.

One thought on your current room and then later. I know at least the Evidence is designed not to use all the drivers until the musical content calls for it, so these may be room friendly. Then again, maybe not if listening to a lot of music with bass. I also really like Magico and MBL, the Focal is a close runner up to those. Just my taste.

Speakers are a very personal choice though, hopefully you can get to hear some of what's on your list. All your options are good in respect to quality and rep.

Check out the Magico M Project’s on Audiogon we are selling for a customer. Mint condition.

Thanks guys for the thoughts.

@joeinid, and I have heard the Stella utopias but neo version and the paradigm persona 7f (one step down from 9h).

The Stella we're impressive casting a huge precise detailed soundstage. However it had probably 100k $ of gear driving them (vac statement preamp, esoteric monos, dCS Vivaldi stack etc.)

The personas I also liked. Smaller sound stage but really ultra precise sound. Powered by more humble moon gear.

Hopefully I will hear more.

@mike how do the projects compare to the m3 or m6?

I find the more I spend on speakers the farther away the music gets, because I don't know what i'm doing when it comes to component matching. I decided to give fully active a try with a pair of dsp 8000's upgraded to 'se' in the hopes I can't screw up the quality by putting together the wrong components for the job or finding out after blowing my wad on speakers I can't afford to power them properly to get their best. Of your list I owned the salon 2's and think they may be a bit big for a 12x16x8 but the larger room is close to the same size as mine and they did pretty good. the 7f is also a speaker with a really high ceiling but they're going to take some set up.

Let the forum beware of this person who is a time waster and a low baller. You have been warned

Welcome to the forum. With duel 4BSST amps you can power any speaker. I use a single 4BSST amp to power my Magico A3s. My room is similar to yours in size. At that budget and your list it would be hard for most to recommend. It might be a good idea to call Mike and talk about the M Project he mentioned.

As a side question I'm interested in your upgrade to the SST2 boards. How much of a sonic difference did you hear? And how much does the SST2 motherboard cost?

Darrel thanks! I actually bought these from a guy who already did the upgrade but didn't bother to unbox them and handed them over to me right away. They sound great with my S8 towers :)

Hrm Mike thinks the M2 might be a better fit for my room, but I kind like bigger speakers even if my room is smaller... Im a bit of basshead. lol

I had a fellow Shark member(Hi ED) come over to hear the A3's and after I mentioned about running twin SVS sealed subs. He asked to hear them without the subs. He preferred the A3's without the subs. I've since been playing with the sub output versus no subs. These are the smallest subs SVS make. But, they can have a big impact or distraction depending on ones view.

Also I find it funny that someone would go through the upgrade or change of their amps and never listen to them. But, that is the nature of this hobby to some extent.

Im actually not surprised by that. Magico is known for its ultra clear and resolving character and subs might interfere with that.

Ya he is a guy that is constantly cycling hardware, hes on all mcintosh now but already wanting to move on lol!
