Gimme Shelter is one of my favorite Stones songs, I saw a 50th anniversary remastered addition of Let It Bleed on Tidal, so I was excited to hear my favorite track remastered. I was disappointed, sounded like they used a good helping of compression or something, the vocals were more buried in the mix, I still prefer the old flawed version.. Anyone else check any of these 50th anniversary reissues?

I believe he wrote that after the death of his son.

His son died in 2015 so it’s not so much dark as it is about grief.
