I think I read that the Michi 8 was designed by British and Japanese engineers but was manufactured in China. I myself am very impressed with its build and sonic quality. ozzy

Thanks for the replies, I guess I am from the old school on energy. That is, if not using it, turn it off. But... I do believe it sounds better powered on continuously. So sound quality wins out! ozzy

The on/off switch is in the back, so it's not that easy to access in my rack. ozzy

Thank you for the reply. Funny it does seem that the soundstage is wider and deeper along with better overall sound quality. I guess my concern is the longevity of the unit, I also have an 8TB hard drive connected. ozzy

I have been turning my X1 off after use, but lately it seems (to me) that when it is left on continuously it seems to sound better. So, should the Lumin be turned off after use? ozzy

I own the Michi 8 mono blocks. They are the best amps I have owned, PS Audio, Pass Labs, Atmosphere, Carver tube, Krell and a few others. My Planar speakers (Clarisys Minute) may require more power than most speakers, I dunno, but these amps work VERY well with the speakers. ozzy...

The 9.1.5 app seems to be fine with my present system setup. I am not sure if it is the latest version though. I am concerned that a new upgrade would cause the dreaded freezing screen to return. ozzy

EJK, Did you upgrade to the latest update? I did not. I selected no for checking for updates. I am using 9.1.5 It may be the latest updates are causing the issue? ozzy

EJK, Yes, The Lumin player is currently Firmware 21.1 But the Lumin app that is used to play the songs on the Lumin player is 9.1.3. 2 different things. I know I originally got confused too. ozzy
