I'm typically in favor of same brand synergy

    Some people are dense

Sorry to hear that. Neither my wife or I have our parents I know that can be rough. It also speaks to the wisdom of not judging or jumping to conclusions you never know what someone is dealing with or going through.

    HT Reminiscing

projector systems have gotten quite good, impressive. On the other hand large screen TV's that can go on the wall are really cheap, even those 75" and up. Thin margins could be the reason Sony sold off the TV section to TCL.

What are some of your favorite tracks for Headphones?

I was reading a story about Q Sound and it was mentioned that a similar effect can be done digitally now, with plug-ins or software. It gave Bad Guy by Billy Ilish as an example. Her brother used that type of effect on whatever that album was. All of that to say I listened to that track, not...

    JL subs

Compared to a Velodyne I owned and the amp maybe lasted 3 years I would tend to agree. Compared to my SVS I've had for over 20 years with 0 issues that track record looks sad. Admittedly the SVS doesn't get daily use and less currently, it's only in the HT set up. Not many people I know who...

Something happened with my Electric in the Storm the other night

Strange incident, glad it was a positive.

What type of amps do you use? Tube? Solid State? Both? Hybrid?

After checking I stand corrected, the FTC did review the standards in 6/2024 and they are still in place. However, companies still find ways to state specs in questionable ways. Seems to be a lot of double talk in the home theater category.

What type of amps do you use? Tube? Solid State? Both? Hybrid?

I was reading something last night about regulating audio specifications. How there came about a standard, then it was weakened, now they wanted to eliminate the standard all together. Your name was mentioned as one who wrote a letter in support of keeping the standard. Good for you. I was...

What type of amps do you use? Tube? Solid State? Both? Hybrid?

I had a set of Soul Superfly, they absolutely took all the power I could give them and remained pristine. They use a down firing port of sorts that's to resemble a muffler of a motorcycle. I still would have preferred a sub. Zu also uses a "super tweeter". I eventually tired of the sound of...

What type of amps do you use? Tube? Solid State? Both? Hybrid?

I heard that combo at the show, nice indeed. I think that might become a classic combo for synergy.

end game audio system -- how do you know you are there?

Just listen with the lights out then no distraction, LOL I personally don't see a reason to downsize as long as I can physically handle my system when needed. I haven't upgraded since my DAC. I think that's over a year, I'm doing pretty good. The temptation is real although I'm happy with...

My next preamp: Cary SPL-90 CLONE

Also, why they now allow families to have more than one child. It should be noted that China didn't really begin to grow until about 1978 when they opened their trade to the rest of the world. Remarkable to see where they are now. Of course, with open markets and cheap labor you can...

My next preamp: Cary SPL-90 CLONE

SVS is a U.S. company. I didn't realize they began making their products in China. That would be similar to Apple. Technically JBL is U.S. as well being under Harman, their products are made in several countries. I guess that's why the HDI series are such over achievers in their price range...

My next preamp: Cary SPL-90 CLONE

I've not looked into where each were made Audeze and Dan Clark are two I liked as well as Hifiman. I'm not sure the entry price Yamaha was also impressive.
