    Audio Memory

My take on your question I listen between the speakers, lights off, no distractions. I'd consider that "attentive". Conversely if you are listening as background, scrolling your phone, talking to others, whatever else might be competing for your attention I'd consider that not attentive. I've...

    Audio Memory

I've been in discussions where I've been told audio memory only lasts a few seconds. This is pretty much true with a distinction and false without it. Auditory sensory memory is short but long term durable memory can last. Especially if it's a system you've heard enough to be familiar with...

The Power Amp is an important part of the system.

I don't know about that. Somewhere I mentioned a friend who had Revel Salon 2 that sounded great in his large room. Another friend bought the same speaker they didn't sound nearly as good in his room, even with better electronics. He didn't have DSP/EQ so I can't say how much that may or may...

    Is Caning a reasonable solution?

I'm sure you are right. Something needs to be done though. Clearly the train has gone off the rails.

    Is Caning a reasonable solution?

For the U.s. I assume most cities are close to the same. We have street take overs, groups and individuals who think they can go into a store and walk out with whatever they want, groups who roam neighborhoods at night breaking into cars, etc. It's getting to chaos. We had a group of...

The Power Amp is an important part of the system.

I don't use DSP for 2-channel and wanted to stay out of this your logic is flawed though. If pushed I think DSP would be easier than continually trying to find a speaker that fits the response you are looking for. Notice I didn't say "flat", most people would not like a flat response when...

    CAUTION: Ear Worms!

I don't remember that one. Are you in the U.S.? I remember, sorry Charlie, Starkist wants tuna that tastes good not with good taste.

Very cool your wife went with you. More so she wants new gear, LOL Unless you are really attached to what you have now.

    Streaming devices

Let us know how that worked. I heard the Gungnir once in a Schiit system. I was impressed. "Warm" didn't come to mind. It was a good sound though.

I would be interested. I've not used Lumin. Could be some take measures to provide good sound. I believe MSB does. Another factor how good is the preamp.

The Power Amp is an important part of the system.

I don't know if it's the heart I agree the preamp is overlooked especially today with so many DAC's offering variable outputs and calling it a preamp. In my experience a dedicated preamp has always improved sound in a system.

    Sensitivity isn't everything

I try to explain to folks with or looking to buy JBL speakers they aren't exactly tube friendly just because they may be 94dB rated give or take. Same with speakers like Legacy. Especially lower power tube amps. This may vary some with the legacy models of JBL like 43nn models. More modern...

    Fyne 704 to replace A5s?

After reading your first post again I see you are using the 333 which should have plenty of power and current for the A5. How large is your room and what source do you use? I'm not sure what you mean by "flagging" but your amp shouldn't be running out of power. I suspect the A5 is just not...
