    Happy π day!

314 is also our area code so it's sort of an event around here. Of course, StL doesn't need much of a reason to throw a party. We are said to have the second largest Mardi Gras in the country, second to New Orleans.

    THE 2026

Anyone around here going? If you have been how does it compare to some of the other shows? I've heard of it although it doesn't seem to get the discussion other shows do.

    Is Music dying?

Interesting, part of my issue may be Tidal. I knew a new Lamb of God album was released today, it didn't show on the new releases or even under Metal, I did find it when I searched their name. I may have to find a backup new release list. Or consider a new service.

    The Secondary Market

I'm like that as well, finding a bit more security buying from a dealer. I shouldn't put this out there but one time I bought a demo unit from a dealer it developed a bad digital input, I think this may have been a known issue but kept under wraps with the manufacturer, anyway the dealer took...

    Is Music dying?

Kenwood made some great tuners. The last tuner I had in my main system was a Kenwood KT-3300d a FM only tuner. At one time I owned the entire 3300d series, integrated and CDP. I believe the KA-3300 was the first integrated amp to have a built-in DAC. At the time the idea didn't seem to take...

    Is Music dying?

I listen to radio very little, only in the car and if it's a short errand. Radio stations in my area sound like crap, worse than Pandora. Content is terrible, I think they know people don't listen much and only play a few songs a day. Sad. When I was young I used to listen to FM all the time...

    A year 4 maths question

I can still count by 10's, LOL I haven't forgotten everything. Education is a serious issue, I've given cash to fast food workers who couldn't make change. I tell my kids you need to know this stuff in order not to get taken advantage of.

    A year 4 maths question

Seems some information may be missing. Simultaneously must not mean same speed. I don't see how they could meet at two different points. Unless one stopped for lunch, LOL I'll have to think about this one. Come back later with the answer. During high school and after I took some higher...

    Is Music dying?

Right, I remember back in the day having a bunch of albums I wanted to buy and looking at record stores. Also, finding those occasional gems at yard sales, thrifts, etc. It is crazy, I do have access to tons of music, my personal library and Tidal, sometimes I sit down to listen and like a...

    Is Music dying?

Almost all genres have new releases weekly. In the past it was more than what I see now. Here's what I notice over the years using Tidal. Blues; may be a month between new releases added. Classical; used to have several a week. Rock/Indy/Metal; all used to have several a week. Jazz; used to...

    The Secondary Market

That's a question we may never know on certain items. I know many online retailers list"open box" items available along with the new listing, example Crutchfield. Some direct to consumer will have a page for returns, trades, etc.

    The Secondary Market

I agree with you. I've purchased both new and used. The used market lets people have gear they wouldn't ordinarily be able to afford and opens a market for those wanting to upgrade. I'll confess my Mark Levinson pieces I purchased used. If not, I simply wouldn't have them I can't afford...

    Is Music dying?

I may have spoke too much. Good comments. My main point and especially if you think the music is still there, where is it? It's not that I don't always like what's out, It's the new titles aren't there. New releases are down from what used to be released each week.

    Is Music dying?

What prompts this question I look forward to what I call "new music Friday", it's when all the new releases hit Tidal and other streaming services. I was disappointed yesterday not much hit. Rather than being March the service looked like the end of the year when nothing is usually released...

    DSP / Wavelet

His current room is large, however, it used to sound a bit like I think you are imagining. The second Wavelet put everything in order. The bass now goes low when the signal is there. The system is now balanced, flat if you will, in a good way. Still musical and very good sound quality.
