    A very respectable FM tuner

I said "receiver" not tuner. In the U.S. vintage receivers sell for several times their original retail.

    Hello & welcome

    A very respectable FM tuner

A vintage lit up dial would look cool in the rack for that nostalgia touch. I wonder if that's one of the reasons people pay crazy money for those old receivers. If memory serves Bryston purchased Dynalab.

    A very respectable FM tuner

Wow, that is hard to imagine. I would hate to see FM disappear. Just speaking to my market they don't help themselves. Several stations are owned by the same corp and their sound quality is worse than Pandora. Programming is lazy same group of songs all the time. It's sad when I can turn on...

    Bookshelf versus tower

I personally would use towers. Some promote use of a sub even with the towers. I've also noticed that with some brands the towers have better drivers over the bookshelf in the series. One advantage, or, disadvantage, depending on how you look at it a sub will allow you to set bass to taste...

    A very respectable FM tuner

My last FM tuner in my main system was a Kenwood KT-3300. FM only and extremely good. I haven't had a tuner in my main system in over 20 years. I have a Denon tuner in my workout room. It's HD and has slots for Sirius XM I don't use. I grew up listening to FM and miss those days when...

    Moon North series

I did remember you having an issue with them. They offer a 10 year warranty but if they won't stand behind it what good is it.

    Moon North series

I went with a friend who wanted to listen to some speakers, we wandered into a shop where we listened to a set of Dynaudio Contour 60i. The system sounded great, it leaned warm but not so much there was a loss of detail or lack of anything. The speakers were driven by Sim Audio's Moon North...

    *NEW* Esoteric N-05XD

So although you use the Bluesound ap you don't want to use an ap any more? It really sounds like you want Roon though I realize that's an ap as well. I don't think you will find what you are looking for. You'll always need at least one ap.

Van Alstine's Vision SLR Analog Preamplifier

The gain switch is a nice feature it is handy if you have very high efficiency speakers.

    *NEW* Esoteric N-05XD

The ACS10 will not play CD's just rip. That is one cool feature of the 50.2. Maybe this warrants a new thread. My opinion multi function units have a primary function or strength. My 526 is primarily a preamp, the N05xd primarily a DAC, etc. Not to say the N05xd isn't good in the other...

Bought a New Van Alstine DVA SET 500

A few pieces have gotten reviewed for the most part though they are word of mouth. The internet helps with that. Also, they have been at it so long.

Bought a New Van Alstine DVA SET 500

Congrats. I had a preamp, I think FET Valve, and a 600r power amp first gen. The first gen wasn't as nicely finished as later models. Both units sounded great and amazing for the price. I bought one of the first of those preamps. It was interesting, at first I didn't like it, I told Frank...
