Wife does Spotify, so that’s the Sonos background listening at the house. Qobuz for me, either through Roon, or Qobuz Connect to the DAC. When I see an album disappear, and still want to listen to it enough, time to either buy the CD (cheap on used markets), or locate the files on HDTracks...

I have seen pictures, and descriptions, of some very high end multichannel systems, some without video. Those guys, I’m sure, will love this platform. As a 2.0 channel listener, I, too, will stick with Qobuz. I don’t mind peeking at others though…

The tubed pre-amp in my system performs the “magic” for me. Using the attenuator type volume control from my DAC worked fine, but was nowhere near the sound of using the pre-amp in the chain, and I can use the vinyl system.

When we were looking at houses in Seattle, I was preparing myself for a tiny room. Room size, and location in the house could have required a reduction in my system. We preferred to be in walking distance to our daughter (we moved to provide babysitting for my granddaughter) House choices were...

Room + Speakers are the base pair to get right. Pre-Amp + Amp is second. I use the pre-amp for tone, and the amps for clarity. I hope to explore amps in the future.. Source is important too. I currently have what I consider my end game Vinyl and DAC setup, unless some significant $ shows up...
