A topic that was deleted to make disappear on another forum....

I took a look at WBF several months back, but could not stay interested. It was good to research a few things, but ultimately, it fell off my radar, and its browser tab disappeared. I’m certainly glad II never got mixed up in any of that mess. I keep coming back to you guys, and buying stuff...

I have used the Bryston version for a long time now. BiT15, still going strong.

    Hello there!

I run both a Blue Hawaii SE with Stax, and Dan Clark Voce cans, and a class A Violectric Amp with Meze Elite headphones. Polar opposites, both great. Electrostatics are clear, precise, yet thin Class A dynamics are thick, and rich, but less precise.

    Hello there!

Welcome, and nice system. I started piano lessons in first grade (nun at my school taught piano), and continued into high school. I can read music great, and as a surgeon, have great eye/hand coordination, and dexterity. But I don’t have one microgram of musical talent, and moved on to making...

    Technical Question - DAC/Preamp stages

I’m sure I could love replacing my current Premier DAC and ModRight Pre-Amp with the MSB Cascade DAC, which feature full pre-amp functionality. Too much $ for this retired dude. And it’s not like I’m suffering.

    Technical Question - DAC/Preamp stages

Yes, the tubed pre amp in my system makes all the difference for my tastes.

    Technical Question - DAC/Preamp stages

I would try comparing the sound between using the streamer vs the pre-amp for volume control. A well made pre amp may sound better than the streamer for this purpose. But then, if that’s your only source, convenience would favor streamer directly to amps. My DAC/streamer has volume control...

    Jeans rant

Some of it seems to me to be the elasticity common in today’s fabrics, even jeans, causing way different fit than before. I have been losing weight since retiring, and picking pants is strange now.

    Genesis at HiFi Sound Minneapolis

Listened to some of these records, and Gary’s amps, in Seattle back in September. Worth the effort to go, if you have a chance.

    Rega RP8 (RB808) & Denon DL-103R

I definitely spent more $ and effort into the analog side of my rig while I was working. Now retired, and all day babysitting a 2 year old half time, I pretty much stick with digital. I’m pretty sure you could upgrade to another Rega arm easily, if desired. Things will get easier over time, and...

    Fiber Optic Isolation

There is a lot of talk in the MSB forum about the AOC device (Active Optical Cable) which is basically a non-modular SFP-fiber-SFP cable. I replaced my stock fiber connection, and I think it makes a difference. Easy to try, and $35. https://www.fs.com/products/74607.html?attribute=10633&id=2101152

    Rega RP8 (RB808) & Denon DL-103R

I know the Rega “concept” is different (low mass, and all). I have a Zu Audio modded 103 cartridge. (They replace the body with an aluminum one) (there are/were other mods available on google) I usually run a Benz Micro LP cartridge, which I find to be the best match for my system (technics...
