    USB Driver Problem

The USB driver for my MA9000's DAC keeps disappearing from my Windows 10 laptop. Usually, I can simply unplug the USB cable, or as a last resort, restart my computer, but nothing is working today. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Mc driver 3 times today, but it never shows up as an option in...

I've made a few changes since the last post.

    CES 2017 cost?

I just want to walk around and look at cool stuff--can someone tell what that would cost? Their site provides information only on convention packages, which cost from $200-1400! :weird: Sure it can't cost that much simply to look at the exhibits, or does it?

    Cartridge Recommendation

I don't listen to a lot of vinyl, so I don't want to spend a lot of money (under $500) for a replacement. My turntable is a Technics SL 1200 MKII with a Shure m97xe cartridge. The two I'm considering are a Denon DL 103r or a Grado Reference Platinum1. Which of these would be a better match for...

    Pass INT 150

I just placed an order for this amp--can hardly wait! I should have it in two weeks or so, and I'll post my thoughts and some photos after it settles in. Does anyone here have any experience with one?

    Leave it on?

Do those of you who own an Esoteric CD/SACD player leave it on 24/7 or turn it off when you are finished listening? The person who sold me his K-03 said to leave it on all the time.

    Stereo or Multi-channel?

Which do you prefer? When I first bought a multi-channel system, I was in love with the extra spaciousness and overall realism. However,I just hooked up my Sony XA5400ES via XLR and couldn't believe how good it sounds! I definitely prefer it in that mode to my Oppo 105--just sounds more natural...

    Happier News!

In January, I posted about the loss of a beloved cat. Well, now I have better news: we adopted two 8-week kittens (siblings) from our local shelter. Meet Lucy and Ethel: (The shelter had not removed Lucy's tag yet. They named her Daredevil even though the first 2 letters look like "Lu"! It...

Is it possible that I don't know the work of the ten greatest guitarists?

Thanks. The Blackmore shot is from Rainbow in 1976 with Ronnie James Dio and Cozy Powell...the "Rainbow Rising" tour. I sat too close to the huge PA system, and it was so loud that I was dizzy afterward! My hearing didn't return to normal for 4 or 5 days. Here's another cool pic from the show...

Is it possible that I don't know the work of the ten greatest guitarists?

None of the fools in that new poll are fit to shine these guitarists' shoes! (I attended the Hendrix concert but didn't take the picture; I did, however, take the picture of Ritchie Blackmore.)

I received my new Dali Epicon Vokal center speaker yesterday--wow! The clarity and detail are astounding.

    Hitler on cables

Although the original scene is deadly serious, this is a hilarious send up! (There are dozens of others--not audio related, though.)

Oppo 105 Multi-channel Analog vs HDMI?

I listen almost entirely to classical music, and when I listen via the the Oppo 105's multi-channel analog outs (I use the main stereo LT/RT for the front channels per the manual's suggestion), the sound is rather boxy/congested and has little depth. Via HDMI, the sound just blooms! The...

    A sad day...

My wife took one of our two cats to the vet to have her euthanized this morning (I was at work). She was 15, in kidney failure, and could hardly walk around this morning. It's a dark day in my household. We did spend a nice evening together last night with her curled up and purring in my wife's...
