Hi Jack, I will probably sell my entire system. I don’t have the floor space in my new home for it. I will need a very compact solution. I’m not planning to replace my Vandersteen 7’s with Magico. I was just curious how the new S3’s and A5’s compare.

Assuming the new S3 is better sounding than the S3 MkII, which is a pretty safe assumption :), it should be quickly obvious that the S3 sounds much better than the A5. Since overall the S3 MkII sounds better than the A5.

For now, I am still assuming the A5 is capable of greater bass output with its three 9" drivers and 1000W power handling specification, versus the S3 with its two 9" drivers and 750W power handling specification.

Hi Neko,

Sound deductive reasoning but I was referring to listening to the new S3 and A5 head to head in the same system.
