Lumin d2 display issues
My D2 is having issues with the display. It doesn't always turn on once powered up. It takes turning on and off the power numerous times before it ( the display) finally comes on. There is nothing wrong with the power cord as the Ethernet port shows it is receiving a signal (blinking green light shows that the Ethernet port is working) but yet the display isn't on. In settings I have the display set to never turn off. Any thoughts as to whats wrong?

Re: Lumin d2 display issues
Have you tried a reset by taking a pin and putting it in the hole labeled reset on the back panel? I’m not sure it’ll fix your problem but that’s what I would do if it were mine.

Re: Lumin d2 display issues
Even if the display is not showing anything, can Lumin app see the D2 on network and play normally 30 seconds after it boots up?
Are you using a third party LPS?Peter Lie

Re: Lumin d2 display issues
Having the Lumin D2 for over a year I noticed same issue with display.
(I had connected th D2 to an Sbooster wich gave to my ears better performance)
' Playin' with the on and off switch from the Sbooster solved the display problem now and then.
Recently I ordered the remote control (not so cheap) and switched the Lumin on and off by the remote. That worked fine for 1 to 2 months but then the same display issue came back.
My simple guess is that there maybe some hardware weakness in the product.
Fortunately I also own an Auralic so I can
still stream music. (but I liked the sound signature of the D2 a bit more)

Re: Lumin d2 display issues
Well my D1 in the other room had a similar problem and after getting with Peter it turned out it was the power supply that was going bad. Ordered a similar spec'd supply, problem resolved. It was intermittent flaky until the Lumin would not turn on at all.

Re: Lumin d2 display issues
I have a Lumin D1 .. same issue. I did swap to a Sbooster Power supply. It didn’t resolve the issue. I looked at the specs on the original power brick and it’s a 4 Amp power supply.. I don’t know if the Sbooster has enough current output

Re: Lumin d2 display issues
For troubleshooting D1, please try another SMPS like the factory 12V 4A power supply, but not an LPS. An alternative compatible brand is Meanwell 12V 5.5mm x 2.1mm.

Re: Lumin d2 display issues
Hi folks,
I am having a similar problem. The app on my iPhone or iPad won’t recognize the Lumin D2 and the display won’t come on. The Ethernet lights blink, the fuse is good, the power cord is good but the Lumin display is not working. I haven’t had any problems prior to today and all of a sudden I get nothing.
In the app I cannot access my Qobuz account either if that might be a clue? I tried to contact wklie for some assistance but I’m a new member and don’t have permission yet to do pm’s yet.
If you folks came up with a solution I would love to know how you fixed it. Thanks for any advice!

Re: Lumin d2 display issues
Thanks MRJAZZ!
I was hoping it was something simple I could fix. I’ve got my fingers crossed! Kind of a bummer if it requires outside service as I’m out of warranty.

Re: Lumin d2 display issues
The service center in California repaired my D2 in about a week. Works like new again. I was out of warranty and while it wasn’t exactly cheap, the repair was much cheaper than a new streamer/dac.

Re: Lumin d2 display issues
Lumin distributor tells me it's either the PS or main board. Main board is $500USD to replace.
Does anyone know which one has failed in this instance?

Re: Lumin d2 display issues
Dear All
I have read the forum regarding Lumin d2 boot issue. Unfortunately i have a similar problem.
Everything original, power cord and fuse is ok, and yesterday this was worked perfectly.
But today doesn’t working, the display dark and blank, the reset button doesn’t working The player not found by the application.
I hope you know any tricks or solutions before I call the service. I’m afraid that the service will be very expensive for me.
Thank you in advance for your support!

Re: Lumin d2 display issues
Hi Peter
I am also experiencing the same problem with my Lumin D2, I switched off and on the power several times, and it still doesn't come back up alive. Switched the power cord as well, still the same. I live in Canada.
Thanks

Re: Lumin d2 display issues
Hi Everyone,
Does the D2 & U2 Mini share the same power supply? Thinking of getting the U2 Mini but now abit scared after reading this thread.
Thanks.

OK - so I just did the 110 hour listen. Better than at 0 hours, but still has a way to go. The "organic-ness" of the tubes is starting to come to life, but it's still sounding congested and too...
