Kharma Comes To Suncoast Audio

Wow, all three amplifiers that you hooked up to the Kharma DB9-S sounded wonderful. These speakers are easy to drive and I would imagine that any good amplifier would produce wonderful sound. Bravo!

Ken

LOL. The MBL 101E Mk2’s are arguably the best sounding speakers under $100K. At approximately $70K vs. $40K for the DB9-S, not exactly a fair comparison.

Ken

Actually, they are $37,500. Bring a tissue, these Kharma’s will rip your heart out, give you goosebumps and make you tear up. Super emotional sounding speakers.

Apart from being exceptionally good sounding, they also truly live up to their name (Elegance series) in the looks department. A perfect fit for a room or home with a contemporary/modern decor.

I love the sound of Karen Carpenter singing Rainy Days and Mondays on this system. We’re talking liquid in the midrange! Like you said, the type of sound that draws an emotional response. Would love to listen to this system in person. Damn impressive.

Ken

Every single person that came into the store this week listened to the Kharma’s. Both pairs were universally loved as in “I want these”. Not one person wasn’t completely enamored and “drawn in”. There was no “not my cup of tea” or “too much money”. Both pairs were LOVED, like people getting up, walking around the speaker, looking them all over and saying “I really really like these.”

I believe it. Karen Carpenter’s voice is stunningly lifelike on that system. I’ve listened to the video half a dozen times. I’m in awe of what I’m hearing.

Congrats Mike.
Having owned two small Kharma models (3.2F and 3.2.2F) back in the day, I still have emotional attachment to this brand. They were beautiful and had high WAF. I bet the new series and new drivers are a huge improvement in sound.

If you luv the Karma sound, plenty of more expensive Karmas's to choose from :D

Mike,
Maybe you are the one that will properly showcase the Kharma brand and get it the long overdue recognition that it richly deserves in the US!

Are you talking about the Rainy Days and Mondays song? What album was it played from?

Gold, Redbook, QoBuz.

Curious if you listened to the original version from their third album and compared it to the Gold version?
