I have older JR gear, a model 5 amp, consummate preamp and phono stage and I like them very much. They don't have the machined front face plates but they are made very well. I have a couple of EAD pieces that have that style, however.
 
Rowland has one of the most beautiful industrial designs IMO. Classy, understated, elegant.
