Hello Audiosharks,

My screen name is derived from El Camino and alcoholic since I drive a '65 El Camino and it was quite an addiction during the restoration process about a decade ago. I've been into music since the tender age of 7, which was when I heard the Beatles in '63. I remember playing her Kingston Trio records and the 1 Ton Tomato with my Auntie Joan at that age. Also listening to Bonnie gonna shut you down and other Beach Boys. I got serious about audio at 20 in '76 when I went to HFC, borrowed the money and spent about as much on my B&O & Yamaha system as I had a a new Honda Civic 2 years prior. Audio went on the back burner as with most things during the child raising decades of the 80's and 90's. I met my wife in 10th grade english and we're celebrating our 39th anniversary this summer. I have (2) 30ish kids who couldn't be more different, a primary education teacher and a Green Beret Halo jumper. I couldn't be prouder of either of them. I'm a amateur woodworker and built a lot of custom furniture. I took a year off from my engineering career in 2000 and explored wood working as a living. Found it impossible w/o employees, didn't want the hassles and went back to engineering. Arthritis has taken it's toll with a couple of knee replacements and a lumbar fusion since 2008, so audio is back as my main hobby. I have 4 stereo's in my house, all have tables and get used regularly. I'm expecting a Heathkit console to arrive tonight, it will be my 1st console. The main rig in my dedicated listening room is a mix - DQ-10's and DQ-1W driven by a Mitsubishi SA-10ADC (sadly w/o meters) fed with an Emotiva USP-1. A Thorens TD-125 mk ll w/ Grace 707 mk ll and a V15 lll w/ SAS handles most of the duty, but there's a Denon CD player with a Beringer Tube Ultraflex as well. Sorry for the long winded intro.
