The new JOB INTegrated Amp is coming !

Thanks Joe for the recommendations. I'll get in touch with them and see what can be worked out. Regards,

To me one of the best features of the INT is the tight integration of DAC + amp that removes the need for additional cables.
.

There was a remark in one article, not sure which one (6moons I think), that INT is what it is because of how each of its internal stages is combined together. Not too much benefit in using this one as anything else than integrated amp, too little to gain. Can anyone confirm?

Not sure what you are saying. Int 2 has direct analog inputs that are not digitized before amplifying...so is a leg up from Int 1.

Short answer: Yes.

The INT does not have a pre out so it can only be used as an integrated amp i.e. there is no other way to use it. But if you mean the 6 moons article, the context there was a comparison with the Job 225 + Job Pre (or any other Preamp). In comparison, the INT combines amp and preamp plus a DAC section. So seamless integration of three components in one box is the calling card of the INT.

In my case it has replaced all the boxes in my listening setup. I did try using an external DAC for some time but direct connection via USB provides all the benefits of the speed and clarity of the Job circuit. Anything else in between and it seems to take away from the sound signature.

Hi guys,

I hope to seek some advises as I have recently bought a preowned Job Integrated V2 amp for my Dynaudio Special 40. However, the sound is quite bright and sharp to my ears. Is it due to a mismatch between the amp and speakers? Should I change my cables to tame the brightness?

Welcome to the forum, Thank you for joining.

I’ve never experienced any Job being sharp or bright. In fact, I think Job is usually a little sweet on top or at least neutral and very musical.

Sorry for my ignorance but why is the Gungnir connected to the Job?

If he has the Job Integrated version where the analog inputs are now truly analog then connecting the Gungnir is not an issue. Based on the measured low sensitivity and impedance of the Special Forty's the pairing with the Job based on my experience with the 225 wouldn't have been my first choice. With that said you might be able to tone it down a bit with the Dueland cables.

But why getting an integrated with Dac if the existing Dac will be used anyway?
The only reason I could think of would be that he got it for a very "good" price.

FWIW I use my Job INT with and without an external DAC (Lampizator Amber) depending on the music.

The reason I have the Lampi is to add tube goodness to the sound and it does sound different. Another reason in favor of the Lampi is auto rate switching without the annoying pop + click when you go direct into the INT. A real issue with this setup (for me) is that you can hear the tubes crackle when the Lampi is idle. This bothered me a bit until the Job team assured me it was okay. Now I just mute the INT when I have it sitting idle.

Hi Joe,

Thanks for your advice. I like the sound signature of Job Int alot which is quite different from my previous Schiit Saga-Vidar.

Based on the datasheet, fuse for Job Int is 8A. Do you know the fuse dimension for Job Int? Have you tried using footers under Job Int with good success?

Yes, I know a French fellow who is looking to buy an INTegrated V2, so send me a PM to link you if you want to go that route and I can hook you up.

Happy to help.

I have not changed the fuse in my Job INTegrated so I’d need to check. The only thing I use under most components is an isolation pad that some musicians use under their gear. I don’t go crazy trying to get tweaky. I love Job gear, it’s an awesome value.

Recently I bought a MiniDSP SHD Studio. It's a network streamer with DIRAC room correction. Sounds great!

However I get some crackeling noises when I pauze or end a track. Also at the end of a playlist. The SHD Studio is spdif out only. With an other dac between the SHD Studio and the analog in of the Job INTegrated I don't get the noises.

Minidsp support says the crackeling noise issue is solved with the current software. I got the latest software so apparently the issue is not solved for the spdif input of the Job INTegrated.

Any ideas?

If you mute the Job or change to a different input, do you still hear a little crackling?

Interesting! I hear the crackeling two or three seconds after muting the INTegrated. It seems you are on to something there!

Stopping or pauzing a track while muted doesn't do anything.

I've got no other input possibility. The Minidsp SHD Studio only has coax spdif and AES-EBU out. So I can use only the coax spdif input of the INTegrated.

Is the crackling constant, meaning once you hear it does it keep happening until the music starts again even though it might be a little intermittent.

Thanks for your suggestion. But no it's only a few seconds after ending or pauzing a track. Like a release of some static. Hearing it after muting the next thing I will try is to reduce the output level of the SHD Studio. Maybe that will help.
