I undertook the task of trying out a few of these shaving clubs. A little pissed with the price gouging from Gillette, I started in the early summer with Harry’s. Each one I went two weeks with. I tried Harry’s, Defender, Dollar Shave Club and One Blade.
Harry’s had a nice box, the razor was plastic and felt cheap and the overall shave was 5/10. Too many nicks. The quality of blade was poor.
Defender was the worst of the lot. The worse shave and no matter what I tried, it just didn’t cut it.
One Blade was ok, but again, not as good as the multi-Blades.
Dollar Shave Club. The blade is metal and feels very solid. The blade cart has 5 blades and a single one for hard to reach areas. The kit comes with 5 blades, a pre scrub, a shaving cream and a post shave cream. All for $5. This is a winner. A better shave than my Gillette, a shaving “program” which really works.
