After today, I can scratch off one more thing from my bucket list. I said the hell with it and took the whole day off from work in order to make this happen. I finally had my first colonoscopy!

I also had the weirdest dream during the procedure. I dreamt that my ass was a potato patch and some hog was rooting through it.

Life can be such a pain in the a--

Rent the movie Deliverance it will make you feel better

I live in southern Indiana and there are some really rural areas around here that you can hear the banjos playing as you quickly drive through.

And now they know your broken in

Hopefully the doctor's and nurses are keeping their mouths shut and didn't tell any of their hillbilly cousins.

So are you going to do it again in 5-10 years (whichever your doctor recommends)?

Looks like it should be 10 years and I will probably do it again. Hopefully they will have a new method of getting you ready which is less brutal by then. The current process blows.

When I think of "Bucket List" items, colonoscopy doesn't come to mind. :doubtful:

Hope everything worked out for you in the end... :)

I sincerely hope you realize that was a joke.

It didn't come across as a joke to me. I guess I'm just too thick. Different strokes I say, perhaps there are people that have a colonoscopy on their bucket list. I'm not judging.

I'm glad you had the procedure. There's nothing like being pro-active about your health. :peace:

Sorry Doug. I thought that was as plain as vanilla ice cream. Bucket lists are supposed to me made up of fun/exciting things you want to accomplish before you are on the wrong side of the dirt. I don't know anyone who would classify having a colonoscopy as something they would throw into their bucket list and thus the joke. Are they a good idea after the age of 50? I know all the doctor's that are invested in colonoscopy clinics will tell you yes. That's another stab at humor by the way.

I have it on good authority that you weren't dreaming....

I had my first one at the age of 52 last year. The procedure is the easiest part...the fast and cleanse...not so much. Hope you checked out well.

Christian-you summed it up perfectly. The prep is a bitch and the actual procedure is a comparative walk in the park. I'm happy with the results.

All jokes aside, I'm glad you had it done!

I had a friend who never had one done, he ended up dying from colon cancer. So sad because it's a very preventative type of cancer.

I had my first at 40. Grandmother died of that shit. I'm due again to visit the nice Greek Lady Doctor. She has a natural nack for it, all smiles and whistles. They were all Ladies in the theatre, all happy with joy and giggles if you tart yourself up for them beforehand, spruck the aftershave, make sure you're all shaven smooth like a badger back there. I'm as tight as a fishes arse so it took the girls a bit longer to negotiate their way in there. Prep well because otherwise it will be no fun for them! Plus the prep is a good way to clean yourself out once in a while.

I highly recommend all men get it done at least before 50. It's great you guys are talking about it. You don't want bowel or prostate cancer if you can be pre-emptive and take preventative measures. Yes put it on your recurring bucket list. It's not so bad. In and out the same day. Nip it in the butt and live long to enjoy the music.

Sphincter-cam... On my list this year. At 57 the doc is hounding me to get'r done. If I can find the email I once received I'll post it, had me ROFL.
