First of all, it takes me a while to work out how to post a new thread here. Mike - it would be an enhancement if you could add this as an icon in the main menu. Second, is it just me or does anyone else have Roon often crapping out? My internet connection and wifi is decent. But more often than is comfortable my Roon does not work and I have to reset my ipad wifi connection.

Roon? Buggy as hell. Drives me nuts lately. It just hangs. Click on a playlist with MAYBE 30 tracks in it and I get this white square in the middle of the screen.

Not sure I can make creating a new post easier.

I’ve had to reset it a few times. I’ll be listening and it’ll just lose connection with my computer. So I’m running upstairs to force quit and restart.

For me, I don’t get any interruptions in the music, I just keep losing connection between my ipad and roon ie the interface.

re new threads, will take another look. No doubt I am missing something!

Assign different SSID (name) for the WiFi 2.4GHz and 5GHz in the WiFi router. In your iPad, try setting the WiFi to the 5GHz SSID, see if it works better. It not, change it to 2.4GHz.

What brand and model of WiFi router or access point are you using?

My Roon is solid and fast, on my iPhone, iPad and MBP.
And after the tweaks on my Extreme server, it now sounds amazing....

I will say every once in a while my iPad loses its connection and comes right back. I just assume it is crappy Froniter service. Man I miss Verizon service.

Never have issues with Roon. Then again, I do not stream, even in the house. I have all my music on the computer/server and control it from a surface. Works amazing, all the time. I also have Roon hand off to HQ Player as the playback engine while Roon is the controller meta data front end. Again, works like a charm, always.

I use a decent Linksys router. Have tried switching between 2.4 and 5 channels. I should have mentioned that my chain is ethernet port <—> Linksys <—> Innuos (and Roon core) <—> MSB Premier. Maybe there is a configuration problem.

I should also add that I have a Synology NAS plugged directly into my router and I draw on that for maybe 40% of my music. Perhaps my router is doing too much work...

If you have a computer or Mac that is wired to the Linksys, run Roon as a remote on the computer (do not setup a new core). If Roon UI works fine there, your WiFi needs to be improved.

Since moving from my Synology NAS as a music source to an Antipodes DX2 I haven’t had any issues with losing connection or dropouts. I think many of the the issues mentioned above are most likely network related.

In my audio room, I never have issues with ROON. It does ‘lose control over the core’ from time to time when I am downstairs and using ROON to control my Sonos zones. I assume that is a WiFi issue. Not a big deal.

OP, shouldn't you be posting this on the Roon forum?

Having said that, I'm not having any problems with Roon itself but sometimes my iPad will crash but when I start it back up, I'm still on the page I was on before the crash. I'm assuming that's a problem with the iPad and not with Roon.
