My thoughts on the Magico M9 and the danger of the Law of Diminishing Returns

Let's see if you get roasted on AS like you have been roasted on other forums for your click bait video.

I was hoping to hear some music from the M9’s on that video and decide for myself.

Your argument makes sense to me. The law of diminishing returns MAY need a constant set of variables but which, with new technologies appearing, are constantly changing.

What is click bait about this? I cover exactly what the title said.

Also, a lot of people on other forums have agreed with my comments on LDR and sent along nice messages.

I wish we were able to do it but I had two problems. I did not have a videographer for this trip and YouTube doesn’t allow hirez playback. It’s probably best to experience the M9s for yourself.

"The law of diminishing returns is BS!"

Doesn't that just tell you how your pc speakers sound?

You can get a general idea what they sound like if you have a decent PC audio system. Wasn’t saying that it sounds close to hearing them in person. But I can tell you that I’ve never listened to a component that sounded great on video that sounded bad when I heard it in person. However, if it sounded bad on the video, it usually but not always was disappointing in person. I get such a kick out of video naysayers.

Does the M9 have the same mid and tweeter as the lower smaller models ..?

The M9 (non-tweeter) driver cones are carbon fibre with aluminum honeycomb cores. The A5 and new S3 also have carbon fibre with aluminum honeycomb core for their cones, but the other parts of the drivers are different.

Magico's documentation indicates the M9's tweeter is an improvement over the other M-series tweeters, even though it is also a 28mm beryllium-diamond dome. The new S3 incorporates some of the M9 tweeter technology, but I'm not sure exactly what specifically. And the S3 and M-series baffle and rear chamber designs are very different from each other.
