What is going on with the recent changes to Fyne distributorship?

I posted about this yesterday but put it in the "Cloak & Dagger" thread that talked about Tannoy. I didn't see anything about being able to buy online. Harmonia being under Upscale though who knows what direction things could go.

I mentioned it puts Mike in a spot possibly with the new distribution and him taking the line early and giving it a sort of lift off. You don't want to see a line you vested in take a turn for the worst.

There will be some significant changes that have already been made that will be announced very soon (if they haven't already).

They were put in play a few weeks back based on some significant behind-the-scenes moves by different distributors.

Will they still be sold by independent dealers like Suncoast?

I just noticed that Fyne Audio is no longer on the Suncoast Website as a Brand they sell.

@Mike, can you fill us in on anything here?

Things are still very liquid at the moment. We are in contact with Fyne directly. We will see how things shake out. Many are not happy with their decision and have voiced it quite publicly (Facebook, YouTube, etc). We will see how Fyne responds.

You know my feelings on the new party involved, hence our decision. Once again, I don’t think the story is over.

Yep, I posted a thought about that on the other thread when I posted the news of Fyne switching distribution.

For us, we have other fires in the oven to steal market share with an even better product. The decisions of some companies is often purely driven by money instead of what’s best for a brand. It never ceases to amaze me. Integrity is so important to me.

I think so much of it stems from the “why doesn’t everyone buy our product?” mentality rather than a deep understanding of the market and how it works. Desperation often creeps in which ultimately turns into bad decisions.

These types of situations rarely ever last. I’ll be a curious observer for sure.

majority of rep firms and manufactures could careless about loyalty/integrity and morals/ethics. if they think they can make a dollar more elsewhere they are gone, an I agree the majority of the time it doesn't work out cause so many people make promises etc and they never happen, next.......

Michael's Hi-Fi Audio & Tweaks Adventures Hello Michael, I think you are not understanding the situation correctly. Harmonia Distribution is the new Fyne Importer. Harmonia has hired a very experience manager to run the import division. For this reason, there will be greater support for dealers, not less. This person is a 30+ year veteran in the audio industry and this is the time (when Harmonia is waiting for it's first significant delivery of Fyne loudspeakers from the factory) to start to approach new and older Fyne dealers to see the interest level of every dealer. Harmonia has very little stock (if any) to sell to dealers at this point. If a previous Fyne dealer has a couple of pairs on the floor, that dealer needs to add a few models to properly reflect the lineup (Fyne is a large speaker line) just as they would if the discussion was about Focal or B&W. Please realize that Harmonia wants dealers who commit to show a certain number of models. Fyne UK does not know what stock a US dealer has on display and it will take a few weeks for Harmonia to check out who the active dealers are going to be. I think dealers will be impressed with the service, stock level, marketing and support of Harmonia with Fyne Audio in the near future. I mean really, how much marketing was done in the USA in the past 5 years? How many trade shows (during the covid years) have been done? Not so many. I think this issue will be discussed in the next 12 months and Fyne will become more visible in the US market. Don't believe everything a dealer tells you about the direction he thinks a brand is going. Please give the new folks 12 months to develop how they will grow the entire network of dealers. It is my belief Harmonia wants a committed dealer network for Fyne Audio, otherwise, why bother.

That makes it sound like Fyne is fairly committed to Harmonia.
