hi I'm just wondering if the difference between say the 501 vs 501 sp is worth the price difference? Is the made in UK SP a better speaker than the regular made in china, or are the components fairly similar?

The 502SP is the 702 parts in the 502 cabinet. Totally worth it.

I can agree with Mike. It is not just where they are built, the SPs are a different animal. I auditioned both the standard and then the 502SPs and had to double my budget that quickly.

That said, the build quality and Walnut on the SPs is gorgeous.
 
ok,i see/understand that now. Would the 502sp be an upgrade over tannoy kensington se?
