Very nice looking components. I've always been impressed with NAD gear.

Packaging is Apple level! Wow! Came with a leather wrapped NAD flash drive. Feet on both components are built in spikes with magnetic underfeet thingies. Gorgeous!!!! Remote is horrible of course because I don't want anything but like 3 or 4 buttons, but at least it's not plastic! It's all aluminum and has decent weight to it. Man this stuff is nicer than I expected!!

Here's some unboxing iphone pics (triple boxed BTW):

So damn sexy! I agree; the remote sucks. Should come with a mini...like the M3 did.

Get one of these Tom; I was going to pick one up, to replace the hog that came with the Ayre.

It's always good to have more than one NAD because men love their NADs.

Too bad all high-end gear doesn't come packed like the NAD gear. There is too much expensive gear that gets packed in plain cardboard boxes with peanuts and the gear is placed inside of a trash bag inside the plain cardboard box. Of course this is done in the name of saving money, but when you are paying high-end prices, you should expect better I think. Pride of ownership starts with the shipping carton and how well the gear is packed. That's why I made such a big deal about how good the Manley Chinook's packing is in my review.

Agree. Those heavy corner angle-pieces pay dividends in carton strength and should be utilized more often in this industry.

It goes much deeper than heavy corner bracing...

The packaging on these NAD master units is the best I've ever experienced. Triple boxed. Plus the black middle box is sharp and makes the unpacking more of an event. Then the units themselves were both in black cloth bags with string tie closure. Just very cool and very nice. Somebody put a lot of thought into it.

No shit Mark? You are the wiz. :)

I was simply pointing out that corner bracing within packaging is not utilized enough for heavy gear.

Thanks for the compliment Mike. I think you misunderstood my point. When you are packing gear inside of a trash bag inside a box that was never designed for the piece of gear that is 'laying' inside it that is filled with packing peanuts, corner braces or lack thereof is the least of your concerns.

The packaging on my Devialet was excellent. But I've received gear that was badly packaged and they cost a LOT more. Makes no sense.

Lumin packaging is also top notch, BTW.

Those NAD's look very nice!

High end Japanese gear like that from Accuphase, Esoteric, and Luxman are similarly very well packed. I agree that it adds significantly to pride of ownership.

I was not impressed with the devialet because they used cheap styrofoam between the inner box and the outer box and both units had broken styrofoam that is unusable for future shipping. Plus, it wasn't doing its job by the time I got it.
