OK.

Here it goes. Hope this goes well.

I've got a pair of Sasha's on the way. I've always wanted to try them and everything fell together and I'm excited. One of my next steps is what cables work best with them. The obvious answer is Transparent but I'm still on the fence and am having a very hard time swallowing the reality that the speaker cables cost more than the speakers. Can someone enlighten me on the network box and what is achieved by having them in the signal path ? Also is there a sweet spot in the Transparent line that might yield much of the result without going for the top model? Are there other happy Sasha owners out there who aren't using Transparent and if so what are you using? Thanks in advance for any input.

Still on the fence.

John

I'm using the Kimber KS 3035 with good results also I heard them with Sasha and it sounded pretty good.

Are you out of your freaking mind??? Cables costing more than the speakers???

GET BETTER SPEAKERS [alexia, maxx] AND USE LAMP WIRE!
IT WILL SOUND BETTER FOR REAL.

Congrats on the new speakers. I wouldn't go cable crazy. AcousticZen makes some good cables for a good price. TaraLabs is a little more, but quite good.

I've heard Shunyata cables with Wilson and it was really good.

I do use Transparent, but use the lower lines (budget with 4 kids and all). They sound wonderful. Will I upgrade down the road? Yes. Just saying you don't have to break the bank right away to get great sound out of Wilson's (in my very biased opinion ;) )

 Ha! Gary, didn't you get the new memo? Apparently the earth is round now....:snicker::snicker::peace:

John, your avatar and signature paint two very different pictures. Did you get rid of the ARC gear for Doshi?

Maybe I missed the memo! :)

I like Transparent Audio and have for the last 10 years or so...you can get great deals on 2nd hand cables from Used Cable Co or from Audiogon. You can also try the folks at Paragon Sight and Sound...Larry is great. I think they must be one of the biggest dealers of Transparent and often can find 2nd hand or demo cables of whichever kind you wish. They also can help you determine in the newer versions whether you really need to recalibrate or whether you can do with out. One of the things that TA seeks to do is adjust for the impedance differences between the equipment. Does it work? In theory, yes...all I know is they work, and I have not been disappointed except by their digicable which for reason was just a disappointment. I use Zanden's proprietary i2s cable now in any event. Good luck...don't break the bank as much of the older TA Ref series stuff is absolutely great and can be bought for 25-35 cents on the original retail.

Well I never posted my change so you never missed the memo. I did have an extended A/B in home comparison between ARC and Doshi and I preferred the Doshi. I really enjoy ARC and have nothing negative to say about ARC.

Doshi is supposed to be wonderful. Congratulations! Keep the updates coming.

Use the web and see what people are using, I would go with what people use the most with those speakers. I understand that some brands you can start small and trade up.
Ejoy!!

Many good comments here. Do not feel the pressure to go crazy spending on cables. Yes, Transparent has been a popular choice for Wilson but you don't need to be at the highest level. Also, Shunyata work great with Wilson.

Congrats, ETunes...I have heard wonderful thing about Doshi. I have heard Shindo in my system which I have been told shares some similarities with Doshi. And I really liked the magic of Shindo. When you have time, any 'notes' about Doshi and ARC would be appreciated...not looking to cause a stir...just looking to get your personal notes for the benefit of reading more about Doshi. Thanks!!!
