Do you use a tablet (iPad), and what made you pick the one(s) you have?

I'll start with me :)

Yes I use few tablets and I pick them for several reasons, including value (financial), performance (prowess), and quality build and display and reliability and long running battery charge and OLED screen (or not) and memory (ROM) and multitasking (RAM) and quality sound with speakers and headphones and fast transfers and internet browsing surfing and Wi-Fi quality and expandability and support and refreshing scrolling rates.
* Cameras on a tablet are very secondary, except for the front camera (live conferencing and family reunions).

Are you an Apple ecosystem user or are you an Android ecosystem user or are you a Google specific ecosystem user or are you both or triple?

I'll start with me :)

Because support and privacy and best processors (fastest) and long-range support are important I like Apple. And, because finances are important I prefer Android, and for customization.

What do you eat for breakfast, an Apple or an Android? :D

Last, you are free to expand your ideas on what's coming up major (or not) in the tablets and iPads department for the year 2022.

This thread is stricyly for tablets and iPads; smartphones and iPhones and laptops and notebooks no need to apply. That's for another thread in another time ...
And because I already know how popular this topic is I decided to make it universal, instead of specifics models and brands. It's like high-end hi-fi stereo; it's a vast universe of many constellations and stars.

By the way, I'm posting this new thread right now on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 (gold color without a headphone jack). I like it, even if it isn't OLED ... perhaps less fatiguing for the eyes (120 Hz refresh rate and without Pulse-Width Modulation/PWM)?
...And also easier to hold with just one hand (the 7+ with OLED screen is huge for one hand...12.4" and heavier of course), plus you need a bigger 🎒 bag for transporting it wherever you love going for both work and pleasure.

What is your pleasure? ;) What makes you tick after a great performance from a record album playing on your platine or during? Are you like Moses with his tablets and the ten rules of happy living?

And last, do you know what's coming up in 2022 with the newest iPads and tablets from Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, and other brands? Are you happy today or tomorrow more? Are you looking forwayd to a better future? Do you have hope that better iPads and tablets are coming up ... less expensive and more fun to use @ the speed of light and beyond?

What makes your mojo tick when you feel like Moses @ the mountaintop with his sacred tablets of eternal life?

Hey! How does it SOUND? ...Adaptation and Evolution.

Bob, can I have some of that secret happy sauce you had before posting? LOL...

I've enjoyed iPads as long as they have been around. Using an iPad PRO 12.9" 4th gen right now . I mean it is an Apple product. Reliable as a Swiss Watch but keeps more accurate time. Oh and the graphics definitely do NOT SUCK lol. In a nutshell, it is awesome.

M1 Chip and the Liquid Retina XDR display on the iPad is a stunning combo in terms of processing speed for running apps and graphics are incredible for watching movies/youtube and photos.

I am using. Second Generation 12.9 iPad Pro. It’s main purpose is for controlling Roon but also functions nicely as I scan the net.

Your last question How does it sound” kind of has be scratching my head. 99% of the time the volume is muted so I can’t really say.

I will be looking at a newer one as the technology develops.

No secret sauce Serge, just making positive conversation in a world of tumults and hurricanes, that's all. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs..., I'm into renewable energies and a better humanity in the fast lane of Internet highway. ...For best knowledge and faster adaptation. Tablets and iPads can help towards those goals; just like hi-fi stereo rigs help me sleep and relax better in a more peaceful world...Opera and Tango music.

You have an iPad powerful enough to replace (almost) your Mac PRO.
How is it for music on the go, or do you plug it to your hi-fi stereo system occasionally?

Old ipad. 2009 laptop. Phone is an 11 though. Will get a new M laptop when the big honker model comes out. IPad works fine.

I use the first generation full size iPad with Retina display, and an iPad Mini with the latest software. I usually only use my PC on Friday when I download some new albums from HDTracks.

I screwed up the screen on my MacBook Pro a few months ago and have been impatiently awaiting the new M1 version. I hope it comes soon as I am going nuts using my current unit with a attached screen.

I have the latest iPad pro (smaller of the 2) w 1T memory and numerous older ones that I use for remotes for my music library.

I went with iPads cause I have an iPhone not that I don't like androids but it's much easier to keep in the same family and have them work together. I have apple at work and home and apartment and .....

I have all the memory so I can put hundreds of movies on it cause I travel so much. Other than that to read docs and reply w work. Architectural plans don't do very good on a phone.

Ipad because one was needed to integrate my meridian dsp, 218 and roon, but my samsung s9 actually has less dropouts streaming than the ipad.

I actually have both Android and Apple devices. I have a couple of generations ago iPad Pro that basically gets used for my Lumin U1 with the Lumin App (and nothing else). It replaced an iPad mini. Still have the iPad mini in a secondary system where I have JRemote on it as well as the Lumin App, DS Audio (that came with my Synology) and Oppo Media Control (have an old Oppo 103D in there). I have a couple of basic old Android tablets. I gave away an old Oppo 93 and they were primarily for that as Oppo never did an IOS App for the 93 and 95. I also have the Gizmo App on one of them (JRemote alternative) For the most part, that iPad mini is used with JRemote or the Oppo media control. I have an older iPad mini in the upstairs bonus room. For a bit I had a small PC and a DAC up there and used JRemote. Does not see much use at this point.

Bob, I just picked up my new 'tablet' yesterday. Pretty high tech for me ...........

Etch A Sketch - Unplug with the classics!

That's one of the most affordable ones Dave, like your turntable.
Save your money for a swimming pool in your backyard. :) It's getting hotter each summer ...
And if you run out of water, just order an iceberg from Amazon.

iPads are the general tools people use here. And Apple is just about to release their latest iPad (base model), same for their iPhones 13 Series (A15 Bionic chip) with improved cameras.

You can't beat the processing power of iPads (& iPhones).
But there is still plenty of room for evolution, customisation, audiophile sound, connectivity, integration. One small step @ a time ... that way the money keeps flowing aplenty towards a secure financial future.

A quality iPad is much more expensive than a quality Android tablet.
No problem ... Apple support is worth it. If Android products can offer the years of support that Apple gives, we'd be living in a more equitable world. IMHO

Money buys you power, in the short and long run...generally.
iPad Air is a better value than iPad Pro, in my opinion again...in 2021.
And opinions we all know what they mean...subjective and irrelative when money is no object.
It's the same thing with hi-fi stereo systems. ...And Wi-Fi speed, and EV (Tesla), and solar panels, ...etc., etc., etc. ...We roll with the time ... Rolex or Memorex.

What professional use are you doing with your iPad Pro that the iPad Air cannot do for you?

Just a couple of older Ipads, one is only used to access the Lumin app. The other sits and is used by the wife since it has an app on it for her to store and access all of her baking recipes. Sound, there ain't no sound. But these things have never stopped working.

I use both. Tried and true Android tablet/device user, but sadly, my Auralic Aries G1 streamer REQUIRES an Apple device for it's LDS implementation, so I went to Best Buy and asked for the cheapest last-generation iPad they had for sale. That's the only thing I use it for, sadly. Fine tablet, but it feels like overkill for what I use it for.
