It took me until tonight to play dsd music. I am going to need help from the HQ Player gurus. For some reason, I could not get it to play dsd, so I bought Audirvana to try and it worked like a charm to get me going.

I am stunned how amazing it sounds. Layer on layer on layer on layer with tremendous 3D, perfect vocals and tons of bass. My system sounds so good it brought tears to my eyes. I just can not believe what I am hearing.

Lukasz is a genius and knows what he is doing. I like my other gear but love my Lampizator dac and amps.

Lukasz, thank you very much. Someone needs to peel me off my ceiling.

Wow Joe. You are truly smitten. Looking forward to my balanced big 7 arriving next week too. There is something so addictive about that holographic and musically engaging Lampi sound. I also love the fact that for a nominal fee one can upgrade to latest spec.

I forgot to ask - do you have the volume control on your dac and do you have an additional balanced xlr input for another source?

Joe, very happy for you! That's 2 out of 2 now that I have recommended you don't buy & it has brought tears to your eyes from bliss. Please let me know what you want me to bag next so I can at least come up with some new expletives in my pm's

Great to hear you're enjoying the listening & not the chasing!

Hi Bill,

I do have the volume control and I am going direct to my balanced 211's. There is an additional set of RCA inputs for one additional source. I have not tried them yet but will, I think it will act as a traditional preamp. I assume I can get XLR instead of RCA but I did not spec this one out. It never occurred to me that it would function as a regular preamp too.

You will LOVE it too. Game changer for sure. Congratulations!

Thanks Joe. Has your vinyl rig taken a back step for the time being then? I used to have the classic 2, sds, Kleos / LP-S.

Unfortunately yes, but I plan on hooking up my Manley and TT to the Big 7 and see how vinyl sounds through it. Could be amazing too.

JUst when you thought the JOY had passed
You go and save the best for LAST….DSD Babeeeeee!

Told you the DSD was magical…big bottle DHT+ chip less DSD = nirvana.
Even with A+ you can tinker with the settings for improvements (Mainly PCM) under preferences -> Audio filters, etc Check out compaudiophile forum for Jud's thread.

For HQP, start with these settings: File->DSDiff/DSF settings -> poly short mp (conversion type), IRR (integrator), Check 6db gain and Direct SDM, (noise filter) standard
In general Settings: Back end is Core audio (as you use Mac), Device comboamanero384, 2 channels, SDM pak= DoP,
SDM defaults: Polly-sinc-short (oversampling), ASDM7 (modulator), 5644800 (bit rate limit) , check pipeline SDM and full screen mode.
For PCM defaults, use Poly-sinc filter, TPDF or NS9 dither and 384000 sample rate limit…. vol max =0db and vol min =-80db.

Ultra quick start guide here:

It will explain how to force PCM upconversion to DSD during playback.

Awesome Norman. Thank you. I finally got it to work but will check your settings against mine. I feel a little stoopid for not getting it to work in the first place.

And a big YES, you were right. Outstanding!

OMG! Mark, it's amazing. We'll talk. I am wiped out AGAIN!

Lampizators due tend to reduce sleep... It's funny how that happens. Wait until the tube rolling goes into full effect.
