The Newport Beach show is coming up quickly and I wanted to extend an invitation to all of you sharks to come visit our room (1144).

We are going to be showing our new Lite 7 DAC which is our entry level to our DHT DACs and features our same DSD and PCM engines as the universally praised Big 7. It is solid state rectified rather than tubed, has a couple less chokes and a more affordable but still outstanding parts selection. With the exception of it's price tag (comparatively speaking), there is NOTHING lite about it.

We will also have some lovely Salk speakers, a Wells Audio Inamorata Signature and the new reference line of Danacables in our room.

Look forward to seeing you guys there!

Fred A.

P.S. The show Lite 7 will be available for purchase. It is a one off of the Lite 7 which will feature our world class volume control module eliminating the need for a preamplifier. This is a feature reserved for the Big 7 and Golden Gate and will not be available on other Lite 7s. This is your chance to snag a brand new unit with no wait! This DAC just touched down in the US yesterday and it will be priced at $5950 picked up in person or shipped.

And here it is:

Gentle reminder for those of you hitting the Newport Show to swing by our room and check out the debut of our new Lite 7 which completes our DHT DAC trilogy.

I'm still an hour out on the plane, but our room partners who are already there and optimizing setup tell me the sound is divine!

The room was sounding fine earlier today. Featured the Big 7 on Thursday and the Lite 7 on Friday.

The Lite 7 is singing beautifully now in the company of some beautiful gear from our room partners. We set a goal of bringing together a fabulous sounding rig in the sub $50k price point and I think we knocked it out of the ball park.

Our final lineup includes:

Salk Sound Exotica 3 ($11,995)
Wells Audio Inamorata Signature ($15,000)
Lite 7 (with volume control) ($5250)
Salk Stream Player ($1495)
Danacable Ultra Summa Speaker Cables ($8,900)
Danacable Diamond Reference ($2,100)
Danacable USB ($895)
Gingko Audio Platformula ($1,500)

Pictures to follow!

Good question. The difference as I perceive it is perhaps a little less refinent and dimensionality. Its clearly cut from the same cloth and a Lampi 7 all the way. Actually there are some pluses in terms of dynamics and bass with the solid state rectification.

Lite is a deceptive name, its a "big boy dac" for sure which will satisfy any sane audiophile.

I think that's a fair comment on the two. The Lite 7 brings a lot to the table at around 1/2 the price of the Big 7. Lampizator will definitely sell some Lite 7 DACs at that price.
But the Big 7 does offer a richer, more detailed sound. If you have the money, it will be tempting to go all the way to Big 7.

Despite staying in the room across the hall and making a bunch of visits to your room I never had a chance to talk with the Lampi guys. Since I'm potentially more interested in a 4 or 5 than a 7, I'll post questions here sometime in the future. The room did sound good, though, the first time I've felt involved by Salk speakers.

Rob,

Sorry we missed you, man! We tackled the room in shifts and checked in frequently but we missed many folks none the less...

Feel free to drop me a line or give me a buzz to chat.

Best,

Fred A.

We've been waiting patiently for Newport Beach feedback to start showing up and we're so pleased to see its finally trickling in and absolutely outstanding. We're so happy to report that experienced ears have dubbed our Lite 7 sourced room as being among the best of the very best!

Thank you so much Dr. Robinson, Mr. Moura, PFO as a whole and all who took the time to give us a listen!

Nice, Thanks Fred. I love the finish on the Salk speakers too.
