I sent my Big 7 off to have upgraded. I had the New R2R firmware flash, and superclock added for the USB section. The improvements were not subtle. PCM improved 50% at least. What I noticed was how some of my older, nasty sounding early digital PCM files, now sounded damn good!

I'm running WE300b's and a 1944 RCA rectifier. I've kind of settled on that combo.

Great Mike. Yes improvements are massive.

Just from what all the Lampi group in London demoed, we consistently did not prefer 300bs on the Lampi, going for 242, Lampi special EML Mesh Globe Anniv 45, followed by PX25/PX4. Did you try all of those?

Also haven't heard your recti but I assume you already have the KR 5u4g

Maybe I am a little deaf already being 57 years old ;)but after the upgrade of Amanero and installation of superclocks I asked Lukasz to downgrade my Lampi, it was in February.
It' possible that the last version of upgrade is less technical sounding but I am perfectly happy with the first R2R PCM in my Big 7 with Duelund Cast Pio.

Has anyone compared the Atlantic to the Big 7?

I currently have a Lite 7 and am considering an upgrade to the B7.

Yes! Big 7 with upgrades and WE300b/1944 RCA RECTI is better.

I would hope its better, we are talking $4500 for the base Atlantic version vs what $10,500 for the Big 7 without upgrades. Lampi's are just so nice in all price points.

Chris - a pimped out Atlantic is $5700 ish.

Marslo, the current stuff is only 1 month old. What you did in Feb must have been a local experiment. The main upgrade Mike got was R2R firmware update...no upgrade to the amanero except for the commercial edition of the super clock upgrade.

Mike, do you know have seamless playback between PCM and DSD with this new upgrade or do you still have to use the remote to switch back and forth between formats?

Seamless!!!! The only way to go. [emoji106]

That's not bad Mike. If they can only relocate the tubes to somewhere besides the top I would be getting one of these.

I thought Atlantic had an option to have the tubes partially hidden. Found the following in Atlantic thread which seems to indicate that the option is avialable.
