This is one power conditioner I am seriously considering. A good friend has the model below and said to me it's the best he's ever heard.

The Silver Circle Audio
TCHAIK 6
Just as the new Furutech GT-XD receptacles helped spawn the pure power one 5.0se, the development of Magnetic Innovations’ new Wave Stabilizers have helped spawn our new TCHAIK 6. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky wrote 6 symphonies, the sixth of which was also named the “Pathetique.” The third movement of this symphony encompasses all that is great in music: delicate strings and woodwinds, flowing sweeping strings, powerful low brass and percussion. It is the only time I have heard and seen an audience almost burst into cheers at the conclusion of a single movement that was not the finale.
The Wave Stabilizers were developed by Rick Schultz of Magnetic Innovations. Five are installed in the TCHAIK 6: two (positive and neutral) on the input side, two on the output side, and one on common ground to IEC input. When we started experimenting with this new technology, we were astounded at the sonic improvements. It took the pure power one 5.0se to a level we never dreamed possible. This presented the challenge with which we were presented with the Furutech GT-XD receptacles: upgrade or new product?
New product was the answer. This new product includes the following:

  1. Five (5) Wave Stabilizer modules; 2 on the input (hot and neutral), 2 on the output, and 1 on the ground
  2. An upgraded Vesuvius II power cord - FI-52(R) IEC connector and FI-50M(R) power connector
  3. Eden Sound TerraStones footers
  4. Sides constructed of a high density polymer to complement startlingly beautiful looks of the TCHAIK 6
The TCHAIK 6 will debut at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest this year. Two units will be in a room hosted by Silver Circle Audio and High Fidelity Cables (another fabulous design from inventor Rick Schultz). One of the TCHAIK 6s will be in the Estelon room and one will be in a High Water Sound room with Jeffrey Catalano.

Interesting. Does your friend have any experience with any of the Shunyata PLCs? I just bought a Shunyata Zitron Anaconda PC (should be here Monday) and was thinking of going down that route if it worked out well, or going with a Bit-20 if it didn't.

I know he's had a much older Shunyata conditioner, forget which model. The newer ones are supposed to be really good. I am using a Burmester 948 now and want to try something new. I saw that review and need to try it. All the reviews of the Silver Circle 5.0se have been great so I assumed the new one should be better.

If I am not mistaken, Myles here uses a Silver Circle.

I tried multiple conditioners....the one that brought the most benefit (transients, micro dynamics, noise floor) was the Audience PLC. Big fan.

I've had excellent luck with Running Springs PLC's but the company has changed hands and the original braintrust is gone. So, can't say what the current products are like. I've also had excellent luck with IsoTek and the PS Audio P10. We were using the top Audience PLC's for a while, but there was some kind of capacitor failure that I hope has been sorted by now. Grant at Shunyata called the other day, and we had a nice chat, so I suspect we'll get a chance to check out their latest. Have tried Silver Circle in the past, and not terribly excited. However I have heard a few larger isolation transformers with better results.

Best bet, give it a try in YOUR system and see what you experience. These things should make a noticeable and instantaneous difference. They should not affect dynamics or tonality, only lower noise floor and lift a bit of grain from your playback experience, not be a tone control.

Hey Joe, I have the Silver Circle Audio pure power one 5.0 , it is a very good thing. When I first installed it the blacks were blacker on my screen, colours had more vibrancy & pop, sound floor in music was super quiet & the dynamics took a rise for the good. If I was to replace it now I would look at www.toruspower.com , the AVR Series. They have the same transformers as the Silver Circle gear as they are made by www.piltron.com , this is the parent company of Torus Power. Also none of the Silver Circle Audio gear have the transformer capacity of Torus Power, the only one out there that does is Bryston (BIT 20) , Torus & James Tanner are quoted as saying that the Bryston power conditioners are Torus with a Bryston front plate for aesthetics.

Great to hear. I look forward to your feedback on this. Will you be trying with and without the Typhon?

As always, the right advice.

Just read this more carefully. Interesting. And if I understand correctly, the Bit-20 has surge protection as well.

Warming up to the Bit-20 more and more...

BIT-20's look like great units. Bryston users often use one or more. I'm sure they work great on all brands.

Yes, mine is essentially a Tchaik 6. First PLC that I had in my system in over 15 years that actually stayed.

Hey Kev,

I was reading about the Torus AVR 20A conditioner on their website looks like a killer product.

Hi John, unfortunately they haven't got commerce approvement in Aus so will stick with the Silver Circle at the mo. The 20 would be my pick.

Anyone knows what transformer is used in the Silver Circle TCHAIK 6?

Thank
