Paul - Yes, Dali was traded in for 802...so far, the 2500 is living up to its promises.

Dario...so what was main reason for a change to B&W 802 again. I really liked the look of Dali as well. Did you miss the sound of 802 N you had ?

Please tell us what your impression with the new set up.

Paul, see below;

My new McIntosh C2500 and B&W 802 Diamond have arrived on the same day. Break-in process is underway and as of this morning, they both clocked in 52 hours.

McIntosh C2500 – right out of the box, it is beautiful! With only few hours in it, I can say I did not loss the soundstage of my former 2300 – it is deep, wide, air around voices and instruments are present, and the bass are well-defined. The midrange is sweet and smooth. Few more days of waiting before I open the top lid, replace tubes, and find out about the internal DAC. My W4S Sonos is connected to the DAC and I can honestly say that the sound is better!

B&W 802 Diamond in Piano Gloss – Out of the box, these Speakers are gorgeous! I liked the beauty of Rosewood/Cherry finish but the seven coats of lacquer and hand polished smooth as glass gloss finish got me! One thing I’m sure of, this is a definite upgrade from my Dali 800 MK2. The 802 sounded smooth, musical and yet very detailed and resolving. The soundstage is wide, huge, and the images are well-presented.

To conclude, I am very happy and satisfied with these upgrades…more to follow!

Dario...Good to hear...I was seriously consider the 802 diamond. Actually it made until my last top 4.

Anyway, None of the dealer had them with right gear nor room.:sigh:

I do know the McIntosh and B&W have a great synergy together so there were no doubt about the sound. Enjoy them in good health. :D
