Are you asking if this is actually a product? the answer is yes... for domestic market right now but it will roll out every where else at some point.

$9k in the home market and probably over $20K when it gets here to the US....

People really have to stop it with this nonsense. You have no idea what its like to try and get Accuphase products, supply is very limited. Accuphase also prioritizes their domestic market, with both pricing and availability. Only way to get a piece is to order 6+ months in advance or stock it up front. All of that costs money.

Free economy, supply vs demand, etc... Sure I get it. The coveted holy grail of Accuphase and the very happy importer and dealers. I bought Luxman, it also comes from the Japanese market. Except I paid a much more reasonable sum for a similar build quality product.

Yes, I have heard Accuphase and I have heard Luxman and it is really a personal preference vs one being clearly superior to another. In fact a blind test would be very interesting to run between the two.

But whatever turns you on as they say. The hunt is as much fun as the purchase? Even if it costs 2x the price of home market.

You also have to keep in mind that Luxman WANTS the US Market, this is why we now have Luxman USA. Accuphase has very little to no interest in International markets.

Well, whatever their philosophy is, it is up to each individual to decide if THAT particular product is worth paying double for. I am sure the importer and the dealers are loving it and as long as their clientele are happy, who is to say there is anything wrong with that picture? I just pointed out the obvious in my original comment, given the past history of Accuphase pricing in the US.

You are missing my point… Distributors are paying MORE for Accuphase products, then they have astronomical air cargo costs to contend with along with Hundreds of thousands of dollars tied up in inventory in order to ensure end users can have what they paid for in a timely manner. I dont know why Distributors or Dealers would be happy about any of this.

That's today. Everyone is paying more. How about past 20 years? Accuphase has always been much more expensive in the US as far as I can remember. My local dealer has carried Accuphase for decades. I have never asked him if he enjoyed more or less brisk sales due to higher cost but he had/still has a lot of exotic gear under one roof so his loyal clients must have taste for less mainstream and prefer imported gear.

What is happening today is felt across many industries. No one is expected to pay double for a BMW from Germany or a Honda from Japan though...
