I do like having a phono-pre that makes this easy to facilitate.

    Hi Audio 1:
Your room and system looks fantastic! For others who are thinking about building a 2-channel room, can you provide more details if applicable, such as room dimensions, how you handled electrical (e.g. dedicated lines, separate breakers, brand of outlets, etc.), special materials used during construction (e.g. extra sheetrock or dry wall, insulation, extra bracing, etc.), any input on HVAC/venting, room treatments, etc. Note: if this was already posted in another location, please provide the link.

    Thanks,

    Re: My Sasha 2's

Very impressive- i like the simplicity of the room and those bass traps are visually extremely attractive.

    Some questions:

    1. Is the GS150 strong enough for the speakers ? As a Arc owner myself I have come to the conclusion that the ARC amps prefer a non current hungry speaker.
    2. The lack of curtains suggest to me that room reflections could be a problem ?
    3. Sitting so far from the speakers- does it not impact negatively on the speaker imaging?
    4. What cables are you using?

    Regards

    Jozua

    Thank you Jozua!
The GS-150 is actually more than adequate for the Sasha's as they are quite efficient.
There is not really a reflection issue as the Synergistic UEF Acoustic Panels and Dots do a good job balancing this. Being a newer system I will of course make adjustments over time.
No I am not sitting so far back to negatively impact imaging. This was taken into consideration with the speaker set-up.
My main Interconnects are Wireworld Platinum Eclipse and Silver Eclipse. Speaker cables are Unity Audio Design SP-10 Reference. Power cables on the amp and pre-amp are Unity Audio Design PC-1 Reference and the other power cables are a mix. The AMG turntable has their Reference tonearm cable.

Thank you for the feedback !

The Silver Eclipse interconnect - looks very interesting, I suspect it is totally unknown where I am. Finding cables with good synergy with ARC equipment is tricky.

    Hi J
I had a listen to Wilson Audio Sasha2 , with ARC Ref6 and ARC amp as well as ARC CD9 , he used the never line from NordOst and that was simply amazing.
I also think that the Wilson Audio Yvette driven with Devialet was also with NordOst and also amazing to listen had a big grin on my face during several hours.

The Nordost cables can definitely work very well. Since my last post I have changed my speaker cables and pre to amp interconnect to transparent reference Gen. 5

    Re: My Sasha 2's

Recently I made a big change and replaced my Arc GS-150 amplifier with Pass Labs XA 100.8 class A mono-blocks.
It was somewhat involved as several of my Transparent cables had to be sent in for re-calibration and I had to purchase an additional power cable and amp stand.
I am very fortunate to have Mike close by to give me the royal treatment for my Pass labs experience. He not only had the new amps delivered very fast, but took my previous amp in on trade and even picked it up at my house and helped me perform some system tuning.
While Mike was over he also helped me install a set of Isoacoustics Gaia footers on my speakers and they made a huge difference! Really impressive improvement for the cost and on my suspended floor they totally transformed the bass and soundstage in my room.

Simply put the Pass amps are amazing! I think they get better every time I listen.
The control they exhibit on the bass drivers is exceptional with excellent definition and extension.
The soundstage combined with the Arc Ref.6 pre is huge. Mids and highs are sweet and I find my system
to be very resolving, but with greater listenability on less than perfect recordings.

Certainly the Pass Labs class A sound has made itself quite welcome in my system!

    Re: My Sasha 2's

I had the privilege of listening to Buddy's system prior to the recent changes and after as well. It went from impressive to the most musically humanizing system I have heard to date. Musical detail in the bass is rare in many systems but was fascinating to listen to. The human voice was emanating directly from the diaphragm of the singers. The immense soundstage made it impossible to believe the music was coming from the speakers but rather from wall to wall and floor to ceiling. Listening is not only non-fatiguing but creates a desire to hear more.
The room layout is elegantly simple but the planning was anything but. I look forward to my next listening session.
PS - Buddy convinced me to order a set of Isoacoustic GHIA II's from Mike for my Sabrinas.

    Hi HK,

Not to derail this thread too much but I see you have a McIntosh MA7900. Can you tell me how you like it?

The MA7900 is a musically satisfying integrated with no flaws. It is beautiful to look at and comforting to listen to. I like being able to just turn on the system and not think of how I can improve anything. The DAC of the 7900 is its weakest link. The PS Audio Junior made that very clear when I added it to the system. McIntosh is something we desire in the beginning, then leave, and eventually come back to in the end.

Let me point out that the PASS 100.8's in Buddy's system are spectacular.

Buddy - it was a real pleasure to help you. Your system sounds amazing, you have truly put together an incredible system.

The few things we discussed when I was there, I know, will help improve things further. It's always a delight to have you and your wonderful wife at the store as well.

    Re: My Sasha 2's

Buddy's recommendation of Isoacoustic GAIA II under my Sabrina, today became a reality. They arrived this afternoon and I immediately installed them, thanks to the inflatable "Windbag". What a handy device!

The GAIAs look impressive as if they were designed specifically for the Sabrina. Everything sounds bigger, live in the room, and with an enhanced soundstage. Other footers may be better. or not, but these really work and seem a true bargain.

I've had a set of Gaia i's on my JBLs for a few months. Definitely a great purchase. Very well made -- beefier than they look in pics -- and positive results. The i versions come with various adapters. Not sure about the ii and iii versions.

(So sorry for derailing your thread, Buddy. Love the whole system and room. I "liked" yesterday after seeing the new Pass mono additions)
