Isn’t that a $300 Dayton SPA500DSP amp module? $8000 sub? Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE WILSON AUDIO. But still.

    Re: LOKE

I brought to light the Dayton amp on another forum a few weeks ago which surely did not go over well with many die-hard Wilson owners. I believe someone from Wilson even chimed in. Today I get the extortion email to renew my subscription and that the forum will be only for paid subscribers effective immediately. I guess the owner needs another Lambo or Ferrari. Needless to say, I guess I pissed off the wrong people and will no longer be a member there.

LOL. Reminds me when Lexicon put the innards of an Oppo CD player in a Lexicon case and quadrupled the price. There are high-end companies out there charging over $1k for streamers with a Raspberry Pi inside.

Guys, no one is trying to hide the heritage of the crossover/amp in LōKē.

As for why it was chosen, it had to:
    • Provide the necessary crossover flexibility and transparency to emulate the John Curl designed ActivXO.
    • Provide sufficient resolution, power, and control to drive the woofer within it's limited bandwidth.
    • Be as close to bulletproof as possible. (Remember Wilson builds speakers, not electronics.)
    • We evaluated numerous options for LōKē, most considerably more expensive and none bringing sonic advantage or better fulfilling required parameters.

As has been pointed out, Wilson is a speaker manufacturer. That's why there is an X-material enclosure, and a properly sized cabinet for the Wilson designed, American made driver employed. Also being a Wilson, it is finished at a level such that it can aesthetically match other Wilson speakers. If it sounds like LōKē is aimed at a broad swath of Wilson owners going back to the WATT/Puppy, that's because it is.

If any of this would prevent someone from buying a LōKē, so be it. As always, you pay your money and you take your choice.

I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that LōKē has exceptional performance but I'll leave that for listeners to determine for themselves. It almost seems an afterthought in most of these posts.

I do not think the owner of that forum has any allegiance with Wilson Audio thus angered by your actions. It has been stated before that the forum will transition to a paid subscriber format.

I guess I'll never know as I will no longer be a member there. Since I'm not a 1 percenter, I'm sure my contributions won't be missed.

LMAO. I started this forum years ago because of him. Today we continue to grow and thrive and not through bogus fake member accounts either.

We could be like the other forums and start fights constantly over stupid stuff, but our members here are far more experienced and have been there, done that. We would rather enjoy music than constantly fight about the same nonsense. We know there is no right or wrong in audio, it’s all different flavors of your favorite ice cream or different colors on the same canvas. We don’t need to try to fool ourselves or others with natural sound talk foolishness, conspiracy theories or some other babbling nonsense.

    Anyway, we’re glad you’re here.

    Re: LOKE

Dealer installed a pair of Lōkē subs to replace a pair of Paradigm's I'd used for a few years with Alexia 2. With the Alexia V's in house, these provide a substantially better floor and faster, more accurate companion. Much better integration with Alexia V's bass and midrange. When my dealer was done, after a few hours of setup, he ran his spectrum analyzer to see how my system/room was performing and was surprised at just how flat and homogeneous the room measured. I have let the subs run for many hundreds of hours and it's been a thrill to get everything sounding so great. Soundstage is wider, deeper and taller with everything solidly positioned in space. I'm a happy camper!
