A sad day...
My wife took one of our two cats to the vet to have her euthanized this morning (I was at work). She was 15, in kidney failure, and could hardly walk around this morning. It's a dark day in my household. We did spend a nice evening together last night with her curled up and purring in my wife's lap while we watched TV. Great...I'm tearing up as I type this.

A sad day...
So sorry to hear about your loss. We lost our cat of 15 years last year as well. She looks very much like yours. I know how you feel. It just sucks. I still wait for her to jump up on our bed each night....and she doesn't.

Re: A sad day...
John,
I'm sorry for your loss. I know all too well how one feels during this time. My calico, Callie was 15 when she passed away last year. Her kidneys were failing also among other health issues. Luckily she died at home on the couch with me holding her. We were listening to Bill Evans 'Waltz For Debby'. Our animals are much like children/family members especially to those who have no children like myself. Love your other kitty and get another soon.
I'll spin some Bill Evans in rememberance...

John, I share your sorrow with you and your wife.
* Yesterday I buried a young deer (bambi) who just recently died on my property. And last month I buried "Baloune" my favorite little hummingbird friend.

Re: A sad day...
Loss is one of those things in life that just cuts through everything else... Leaving a big hole in our hearts. A profound reminder of our humanity. Hug your wife, put on some music that moves you, have a good cry, and say farewell to your little friend. Then hug your wife some more. Let the pain you feel be a tribute to the memories of your friend.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
