This is my first Apple Watch in silver Stainless Steele and it finally feels and looks like a bonafide Watch. It’s heavier than the aluminums I have previously had and plus the always on (just a little dimmer) finally made it real to me. The ingenious easy band swap and the low prices to be found on bands really make it fun. I love all the faces and functions you can put on them. My go to infograph face has the following complications: Denver time (my daughters home), time and day date here, Stock market quote, High/low Tides, wind speed, and weather/temp (the last 3 since I like to fish and boat). Other faces saved are a photo slide show, a Kaleidoscope of my granddaughters photo, and half dozen faces to match my watch bands. Yep, quite the Apple nerd too in addition to audio nerd lol.

The stainless steel bracelet is made by Nomad. The Apple link bracelet although being a feat in engineering, lightweight and thin, it did a number on my wrist so I swapped to this one.
Oddly enough the Apple version combo was almost a visual clone of a 60’s Seiko I had!

Looks awesome. I am still thinking about getting one. I have so many Casio G-Shock watches that I love and rotate through. it might be difficult to gain as much benefit from the AW 5 since it won't be a daily wearer unless I give up more G-Shock days. Ugh!

That Apple Watch looks sweet!

G Shocks for the win, Joe!

Ha!

I always have my phone, even at work. I don't need the instant notifications but love the idea. The AW 5 does look awesome and useful.

Other than the heart and health
monitoring of the AW 5, I'd miss a conventional watch.

Man, I didn’t know the resolution on smart watches had gotten so good. That thing looks sharp.

I tend to agree with a simpler watch approach. My G Shock is durable as all get-out, solar rechargeable, and atomic.

But, I’ve heard the Apple and Samsung watches have gotten better and better with each generation. Maybe one day. Let us know how it treats you as you get acquainted.

These smart watches also help with the phone texting addiction we all have. You know you are probably gonna be fumbling for your phone while driving no matter what the penatlties or consequences are so why not have that quelled by having the notification pop on your wrist. Or in a social setting where it may be inappropriate or rude to go phone seeking.
I also like the watch gps signals on my wrist while driving which reinforces the one running on the phone or car. Oh and like you don’t have enough nagging in your life the watch fitness app. tells you it’s time to get off your fat arse and walk a little!

And when my toy isn’t on my wrist I keep this 47mm chunk of bronze on it!

Ha! Have a PAM111 and the Apple watch as well... and a couple of others [emoji3].

The Apple watch is fun, but I agree, bragging rights come only with the accompanying phone.

My favorite application is using the iPhone for navigation when riding a bike, and showing the directions on the Apple watch, while recording riding performance on the watch.
