My 41 year old Heuer died -- a Seiko came to the rescue
My daily wearing Heuer of which I purchased in 1982 finally succumbed to a mechanical breakdown & according to Tag-Heuer is not repairable (or so they say). I loved that watch and pondered what to replace it with (budget $3K). Looked all over and just wasn't ready to buy something just to buy something.
Happened to walk by a Seiko display and fell in love with the SSC-813. Has more bells and whistles than the Heuer of course, but it really looks sharpe and with a change in bracelets (similar to the Hauer), I really like it. Hope it lasts a few years (I won't make another 41 myself).
Best to all,
Bob

Send your Heuer to Nekkid. There is nothing that he cannot fix. See below...

The Seiko looks sharp with the panda dial and jubilee style braclete, nice find.

Re: My 41 year old Heuer died -- a Seiko came to the rescue
Ha! Bob, I have that reference as well, and really love it. It was a massive success immediately upon launch, and was sold out for the better part of a year and half after it was introduced. I was finally able to get one at the end of 2022. It's become somewhat "iconic" already and is known amongst watchonistas as the "Seitona". It's my first chronograph (other than my G-Shocks, of course).
Here's "tabletop shot" of mine...

Thanks Sir – I’m not a horolofiles but have received several comments from others how they too like the watch.
Thanks, I just may touch base with him.
Thanks – of course I agree.
Definitely wasn’t aware of that PC – thanks, I’ll make a note of that info. As they say; Cool Beans.

Re: My 41 year old Heuer died -- a Seiko came to the rescue
Bob, you mentioned your Heuer succumbed to 'mechanical' breakdown. If I'm reading correctly it looks to be a quartz movement, they don't last forever and unless another movement will fit the case that could very well be the issue.
I owned a similar piece, although it was 10 years newer, Tag Heuer by then, it too died a couple years back.
Congrats on the Seiko, I have a few in my collection, all good watchesCheers ! …. Dave

Thank-you PC and Dave. I didn't know that was possible, so I'll jot those movements down and pursue looking into finding a watchmaker after the holiday.
