Half the price of the DD turntable.
Limited to 400.

Interesting, can you post the link to the live stream or is it dealer-only?

Any clues on the price? I've seen both 12k and 15k, which one is it :)

The feet look interesting. Are these solid metal, or a new upgraded model?

And welcome to AS!

$15k

Definitely a Brinkmann Bardo challenger.

And this ain’t no DJ table!

Would love to see a sub-$10k DD TT from VPI.

Thanks Mike, totally missed the event.

15k it is. Still a good price for the package (direct drive + 12'' fatboy), but at 12k it would be a steal..

Isolation does seem updated too, it's explained towards the end of the live stream.

VPI did a demo on an Avenger with two arms on it I think 2 years ago at the CAF. One was the unipivot the other was a gimbal bearing arm of Harrys design. Same cartridge on both arms. No contest the gimbal arm was better especially in the bass department. Great demo with Harry and Johan of KEF. Audio equivalent of Laurel and Hardy.

Unipivot is junk IMO. The new VPI Gimbal is way way way better.

agreed, but I doubt very much if it can better the 4k Technics 1200, I'm talking the table itself and please don't tell me the VPI arm is worth 11k over the Technics !

Would love to see a sub-$10k DD TT from VPI.

again, I doubt very much if they can / would produce anything 'DD' in the 4k region to compete with Technics

that would not be difficult. My mate is selling his Bardo as he bought a vintage Yamaha GT2000. The yammy sounds better. he is now hooked on high torque DD - he has now bought a SP10 mk3 as well and cancelled his 1200 GR.

It is great to see that VPI HW-40 is a high torque DD table that starts and stops in one second. imo, tables like Bardot and alike are oxymoron when they take 8-12 seconds to start.

The VPI imo would wipe the floor of the 4K technics. It' a competitor with the 20k SP10-R and its 5k cheaper and has arguably a better tonearm.

I'll take that bet any day, lets see when all specs are revealed !

By chance did you see Fremer's comparison that he did between it and his six figure reference table ?
