    Vivid Kaya 45

Vivid Audio sent us these speakers to demo at their expense. We haven’t bought them. We will break them in and report back.

Initial impressions are very positive. Tight bass. Sweet sweet highs.

I have heard 2 Kaya models at shows and while it was not an extended demo they always sounded excellent!
The Vivid speakers have always intrigued me and the Kaya series brings some of the magic from the Giya’s for much less $$.

The new MBL Xtreme Ref System is taking up our entire big room! So, everything else has to be put into the small and mid sized room. Maybe I should just get busy selling another Xtreme Ref System and then free up that room? Hmmm... Vivid Kaya 45

I am looking for a bigger store, but it’s slim pickings in my neck of the woods. I have an agent looking though.

Are they bass shy? I've not heard them, but these specs puzzle me.

    Kaya 45: 37 – 25,000 Hz (-6dB)
    Kaya 90: 35 – 25,000 Hz (-6dB)

They appear, at least on paper, to be rolled-off in the low end.

Their bass extension is about right for their size.

    Ok. My speakers are 34L and 36Hz - 30KHz +/- 2dB on-axis, so if I were looking for a bit more bass weight, I shouldn't consider the Kaya's?

    Re: Vivid Kaya 45

I am intrigued by the Kaya line, especially for a smallish room. I am considering the Kaya 45, Kaya S12, and also the Magico A1.

I have heard the Kaya 90 and thought it was a great sounding speaker. The Kaya 45 would be better fitting for my room but I have a nagging suspicion I would be even better off with a stand mount. I heard the TAD ME1 and it was a great stand mount, but $15K for a monitor seems crazy when the Kaya 45 can be had for around that price.

Does anyone know if the S12 is a speaker that can actually be placed on a bookshelf that is against a wall. My understanding is that Vivid speakers can be placed very close to a wall (even Giya). I have been informed that the Magico A1 really needs to be on speaker stands a bit away from the wall. I am also trying to find the price of the S12.

Thanks Scott. You getting a pair? They look so cute!

What Vivid’s do you have on the floor? We have G2 S2, G3 S2 and Kaya 45’s. I’m jonesing for some G1 Spirits, but our big room is monopolized by the MBL Xtremes at the moment.

There is a pic of a light green pair of S12s floating around on the internet. I intend to get a pair in that finish. I have G1's, Kaya 45's and a customer near me has Spirits that I demo for potential customers as well.
