Vinyl Album Storage Rack

Randy, Thanks for the post and link. I also do not plan to collect hundreds of albums and need something small and nice looking. It's a little expensive, but so is the rest of this hobby plus it is a quality pc of furniture.

I like the same one and totally agree on the Amazon offerings. Will show this to Mrs Shadow

Just found this one on Etsy for $285. Obviously not as nice but same functionality and looks decent also.

great looking suggestions across the board gents, I am somewhat surprised that not one 'competent wood worker' in the group has not chimed in to let us know how much $$ we could save if we made them ourselves !

I guess I should have payed more attention during woodworking class 50+ years ago !

Awesome, they definitely work for you in your room! Lots of vinyl there :)... we have three guys in our audio club that literally have dedicated rooms for their vinyl :D....

thanks. I have a LOT more outside the music room at the back of our lounge room.

Now that is a vinyl fanatic if ever I saw one :). It has to be a chore just keeping them organizing and picking out which one you want to listen to :D.

a chore is doing the dishes or taking out the rubbish.:roflmao:

playing with vinyl is magic

- btw, everything is strict alphabetical except for classical, soundtracks and various artists so I can find most albums very quickly. You will notice some albums are poking out in the shelves - that enables easy album returns.

cheers

FWIW... I have cataloged my entire LP collection for the first time.

Using Roon, I created a "My LP Collection" Tag. Then I added the digital versions of my entire LP collection to that tag (I used Qobuz).

So now, I use Roon to "browse" my LP collection using my iPad. When I decide what I want to play, I can find the album in the rack and play it. Or I can just listen to the digital version if I am too lazy to get up from my chair.

I think of it as a wine list. I browse the list, decide what you want to drink, and then go to the cellar and fetch it.

As an extra benefit, I printed the list of my (digital version of...) LP collection and saved it for future reference. Now I know the albums that I own!

Looks like they are in Sugarcreek, Ohio -- about an hour or so south of where I live. I may have to visit them in person.

I use Discogs to keep track of my records. Whenever I clean new, or new to me, records, I enter them into discogs. I can access the collection on my phone, when tempted to buy something.
