I have used the VPI HW 16.5 for a decade or so after trying many different variations of manual cleaning previously. I found using Record Doctor 2 step solution with Record Doctor brushes the results to be outstanding. As I age and want to put less effort into LP cleaning and I have tried Audiodesk LP cleaner attempting to simplify. I compared many different ways but the Audiodesk never improved on what I had already accomplished with my manual 16.5 cleaning. So for all I could see was that spending $4000 to clean LPs would make things easier but not better. Still wanting something easier I didn't give up looking. My local dealer had become a Degritter dealer so I ran the side by side test once again. The ultimate test was to take what I had already cleaned and see if cleaning it with the Degritter would change anything as the Audiodesk had not. I now own a Degritter. To reach the conclusion took no time at all. Every single LP that had previously been thoroughly cleaned with a 2 step process now sounded substantially better after being cleaned with the Degritter. After cleaning about 70 LPs this weekend there was never a hiccup. The machine told me what to do and when to do it including some auto maintenance it performed. I reached out to the dealer telling him I found this equivalent to a component upgrade, it's no joke.

When I said," 2 step solution with Record Doctor" I misspoke. It is Disc Doctor and it really is everything the inventor said it was. I tried many different cleaning solutions during my time with the VPI 16.5 and the Disc Doctor stuff rocked . I would go back and edit my previous statement but seems there is no way to do that .
