Talk about "vintage", I have a 1961-'62 Sherwood S2000, 13 tube AM/FM tuner (cats eye tube in front).
And a 1958 8 tube Stewart Warner amp that puts out a whopping 2.5watts!:D

Both still work, but I am going to recap them shortly anyway.
They just don't make them like this anymore.


So how old is your oldest components?

Do my tubes from 1959 count ? Or my early 1960's Motorola Tube amp ?

I answered this elsewhere recently so here it goes.

The oldest component connected to my system is my MS-300 music server, but now having the SooLoss this is not used much any more.
The oldest component used regularly in my system are my Momentum mono-blocks.
The oldest component I own is a limited edition Sony 8750 Turntable from the mid-70's.

But, my oldest piece of audio gear in our home is a Edison hand crank wax cylinder player.

Yep that is awesome, something from '59 still in operation, just amazes me!
Back when things were built with PRIDE!

Though its not really a component...my George Nelson designed mono hi-fi cabinet, that acts as my gear-home/shelving dates to, well, the mono era.



The single JBL D-130 is the only part of this "component" that is actually used to make sound, though I do have a Dual 721 TT mounted in it. What sound does it make? Guitar sounds. The D-130 is an excellent guitar speaker. Yes, my hi-fi rig is occasionally used as a guitar speaker.



It has a 1970's Dual 721 formerly owned/fixed by Ohbythebay/Rob in the original TT slot. Though I managed to get it in there with the entire plinth and not just mounted on a board.



My oldest component is probably either my Dynaco MKIIIs or one of my turntables, probably my Empire 208 which dates to Nov. 1960.

John, the unit looks awesome...I gotta share something with the gang...The DUAL 721 John put in his console? That was my favorite I sold John when I bought my Concept ...it had a customer base I made (pictured below). Sent John the original base in case he wanted to switch but he indicated he hoped the wood base would work out as he was mounting in a console...TALK ABOUT PERFECT FIT...its as if I built it for his console...LOL

If I had given Rob the dimensions of the hole in my console, that plinth wouldn't have fit any better.

That Dual is currently the oldest thing running in any of my rigs, except the tubes in my Juicy Music Tercel II phono stage. The main rig is pretty modern otherwise. I have a huge collection of vintage gear that is sort of just on display or in a closet these days. Its nice to look at but has largely been surpassed. I like the Accuphase gear visible in some of the above pictures, however. Early '80s but it looks a bit older.

Wow that console is sweet! I love mid-century modern furniture and Nelson was the King of it all as far as I'm concerned. Very Nice!!!
 
I am using as a center channel a pair of A/D/S 300 speakers I bought and used for the rear deck of my first car (1976 Buick Century) when I turned 16 thirty-one years ago. They have been with me all these years in constant service. And they sound great.
 
How old are the Realistic Minimus-7W speakers? ...I'm using them right now with my PC.
...And the Koss Pro/4AAA Plus pair of headphones? ...I still have them but I use a pair of Sennheiser now on occasion; very rare though.

Sorry - no pics - seems I lost all of them on my last computer rebuild:(

Oldest currently in my system is my Dynaco Stereo 70, heavily modified power supply and lightly modified circuit. Don't know when this or any other piece of mine dates to.

In the garage awaiting funds and time for repair:

Bell Receiver (model 2445 I think)
Fisher 400 receiver

In the bedroom

Pioneer SM-83 masquarading as an ITT amp

Moving to more modern stuff

Thorens TD150 MKII (1974) Know that one cause I got it new.
