Thursday night I resumed watching a BR from the previous night. After the TV/AVR/Oppo finished the HDMI handshake the movie continued, but in black and white. WTF is this? I power cycled everything a few times. No help. I moved the HDMI to the TV from the AVR to Oppo, but still no color. However, the Oppo menu screen displayed in color, but the movie was in black and white.

Today, I was going to swap the 103 with the 93 to verify the issue was the Oppo and not the TV, but before doing that I checked the 103 again, and now it is in color. I'm glad it is working, but that was too strange.

At least it happened on Thursday and not Friday when you usually smoke your gear! :D

Sorry to hear Bud....LVB probably blames me for the strange occurrence with your Oppo.

IME with playing BD's on Oppo's all kinds of weirdness will occasionally happen, almost always fixed by opening and reclosing the disc tray, less often by requiring that plus a 10 second unplugging.

I thought Schindlers List was in b/w. It appears he had a different issue. His audio went out when the movie changed from b/w to color.

Your right it was made in B&W. The movie would not "look right" if it had been in color. Some weird 103D things noted above with your experience and the person in AVS.
