New Production WE 300b - Pre-Orders

Can someone please explain to me why there would be a charge for tube matching - a significant one.
The tube matching price increases exponentially as the number of tubes increase $101 for 2 tubes - $303 for 4 tubes - WTF.
They will be individually numbered & tested to ensure they meet or exceed spec - each tube "data" coded - data recorded & stored.
The "matching" has already been done - WOW - I am stunned to say the least.

Just saw that TubeDepot has a pair of 1930s manufacture Western Electric 300B tubes for sale. Only $19,995... get them before someone else does!

Makes the new production WE 300Bs at $1499 per matched pair quite a bargain.

I preordered a pair of new production 300B Western Electric.
Now the wait begins....
No matter if they take a few months to ship. I have my beloved pair on duty.
