Just seen the news from KR as they started production of KT150 tubes. Finally some competition to TungSol and a very nice one :celebrate008_2:.
Wondering what will be the price...

Yes, this is exciting. I pushed Eunice to do this. Trying to get her to make a few other new tubes as well. :) Some 6H30P's, some 6550's. Oh yeah. But KT150's (and previously KT88's) are good to see.

This would be SUPER exciting for all the ARC and BAT equipment users out here.

YES, wow finally! hopefully it comes together and we'll have another source for KT150s

Found out the price and I’ll stick to TungSol :-(. Also I got an info from KR that hight is bigger than with TunSol so no go also from that perspective...

That doesn't sound good for all the KT150 users. So they are making them out of unobtainium?

What is the price, and do you have a link?

What I got as an info is almost 1k EUR for matched pair...link I don't have - sorry...

Wow, that would be at least two grand in dollars for my amp. Thanks for the info, I guess I'll pass on this one too.

Quick clarification on pricing....it's going to be approximately $350 Euro per tube MSRP.

I don't know if I'm guesstimating incorrectly, but these new Tubes would come in around 4X the cost per tube ($US) than the Tung-Sols, right?

Just got some info from KR dimensions wise: "still don't have the dimensions but I think they could be quite close to KR 300B XLS and that means it is anyway clearly bigger in diameter and height to the regular KT150"...

It will all come down to how they sound... a little extra size won’t matter if one keeps the cage off the 160M’s. So who'll be the first to bite?

For me personally, at 4X the price of Tung-Sols, they'd need to somehow sound pretty darned good. No problem with size on "cageless" CJ ART300s. Or maybe if their life expectancy was improved.

Hola Mike.
I must understand that you will receive 6550 manufactured by KR?
If so, it would be great news for all of us who use 6550 NOS in our Audio Research Pre Amplifier.
It is increasingly difficult to find them.
