Did some more research. Apparently these tubes won’t be available from the usual tube sellers. Only thru Audio Note and their dealers.

    Re: Audio Note UK announces

I’m thinking about buying some. Peter Q has pretty good ears. If he thinks they’re good, they just might be!

I got out one of my old 300B amps a couple of days ago to use in my 2nd system, and it sounds even better than I remember. It uses RCA 5U4G rectifiers and RCA 6SL7 drivers with a TJ solid plate 300B. Not as romantic as the 2A3 amp I’ve been using. I miss a bit of the 2A3 warmth but like the enhanced 300B detail and leading edge transients. I wish I knew if I could use EML mesh plates, which I have in my other 300B amp. The power transformer is a replacement that Jack Elliano (ElectraPrint) made for me almost 10 yrs ago after the original had a meltdown. Jack also made me 2 OPTs with silver secondaries. It really is a great amp now!
