VAC Signature IQ power amplifiers and the use of power regenerators?

    Dear fellow VAC-enthousiasts,

I am really curious if someone of you ever tried to power a VAC power amplifier (especially those with the IQ-system) with a power regenerator, like e.g. those from PS audio.

I own a pair of Signature 200 IQ's and I would like to hear your experiences regarding such a combination or if you ever tried e.g. the use of a PS Power Plant in combination with such a IQ-power amplifier and if so, what your findings are.

Or would it make no sense at all to use such a Power Plant as the IQ system always makes sure that the amplifier is working at is optimum working point due to the IQ system, regardless the situation of the power supply?

Really love to hear about your findings, experiences and/or thoughts.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

    Best regards, Jan

I find you will limit dynamics. I prefer plugging my 200iQ’s into the wall.

@mike what are your thoughts about the VAC Preamps in wall vs through a power unit?

Thank you for your quick reply Mike. May I ask which power regenerators you tried (so far) in combination with the 200 iQ’s?

Thank you Mike. These all seem to be advanced filters instead of regenerators. In de meantime I had the opportunity to test both a PS Audio P15 and P3 in my system. The VAC's did no benefit sufficiently from power regeneration via the P15 in my situation. My front-end however did via the P3. So the P3 stayed.

    Best regards, Jan

I think those findings are pretty much universal. Despite all the claims, I still like my amps plugged directly into the wall, with a few exceptions (very low powered SET amps). Sources/Preamp however, really benefit from power conditioning. I have personally found only digital sounds better with power regeneration vs power conditioning. But again, we are talking shades of gray here. They are all close.
